Best New Books for Kids! - 2009

In this lively one-day workshop, Kathleen Odean will introduce the best recently published books for students in grades six through twelve.
She will share practical strategies and tips for promoting the books and integrating them into classrooms.
The workshop will highlight outstanding fiction, nonfiction, and poetry, including teachable books, recommendations for independent reading, high interest genre titles, and books for reluctant readers.
Participants will learn about print resources, websites, display ideas, and activities to motivate teens to read these and other books.
There will also be a chance to share ideas and favorite teen titles with each other. Spend an enjoyable day steeped in young adult literature, the most exciting area of book publishing today!
NOTE: This event will also serve as the December Liaison Meeting -Liaison's are expected but all must register!
