		SUMMER READING 2013 -- DIG INTO READING!
		The Boxborough Public Library has a wide variety of interesting, entertaining and fun programs lined up to help you and your children enjoy the summer months. This year's children's program, "Dig Into Reading!" will run from June 24th until August 15th. Everyone is invited to read for fun all summer! Children and Young Adults who fulfill their goals will be rewarded with free book prizes! Children and Young Adults may register anytime during the summer. Registration involves signing up in our notebook, setting a goal, and picking up a reading log. Young Adults may also register & keep track of their reading online. Summer is a great time to read for pleasure or explore a new interest! Please note: Our programs are sponsored by the Friends of the Boxborough Public Library. If a program requires registration, preference will be given to Boxborough residents. Non-residents may attend programs on a space-available basis. The 2013 Dig Into Reading Program is sponsored by the Boxborough Library, the Friends of the Library, the AB Cultural Council, the Massachusetts Library System, The Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners & the Boston Bruins!

		Rick Goldin's "I Lilke to Read" Concert -- presented by the Sargent Memorial Library and First Connections! Children love Rick Goldin's interactive performances because they get to dance and sing along with singing animal puppets! Rick has been performing for 20 years and presents over 150 shows a year at schools, libraries and community events. This is a free program, but registration is required. To reserve your spot, contact First Connections at 978-287-0221 or lmatthews@jri.org. Each child will receive a free Scholastic Book to start off their summer reading! This program is suitable for children of all ages!

		"Dig into Reading" is an exciting, entertaining, informative program of skits, stories and songs celebrating the joys and benefits of reading. Featured as the kickoff event for the Library's 2013 Summer reading program, the fast paced musical show will gurantee an exciting start to the summer! Vicki and Sticks is a husband and wife team who perform original songs on recycled instruments and encourage audience participation! This program is made possible by an Acton/Boxborough Cultural Council grant and the generous support of the Friends of the Library! Suitable for children of all ages!

		Children and their families will have the chance to get a closer look at emergency vehicles during Boxborough Library's annual Emergency Vehicle Day set for July 11th. There will be represetatives from the local Department of Public Works, the police force, the fire department, and Littleton Electric. Chirdren are invited to get a closer look at a fire truck, go inside an ambulance, sit in a police car, and climb aboard utility trucks! Afterward, we will go into the Library for a story time with a Fireman from the Boxborough Fire Department!

		Steve Blunt is an award-winning children's musician from New Hampshire. He performs songs and stories for all ages. This part-time music teacher, part-time singer/storyteller started creating songs for children in the mid-90′s. Steve performs at schools and libraries throughout New England. In addition to original compositions, his shows feature traditional American and multicultural material that will appeal to a wide audience!
