misc_none LITTLE PIG JOINS THE BAND AUTHOR VISIT Remind Me about this Event   Tell a Friend

David Hyde Costello, author of Little Pig Joins the Band, will make a musical visit and share the message of his book, which is that everyone has something to contribute to a group endeavor - especially when the endeavor is making music! David will share some of his homemade musical instruments - most of which are made from either very inexpensive or recycled materials. Parents can then help their children make recycled instruments using engineering, invention, imagination and artistry. Families can then form their own musical parade where everyone joins the band.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Acton-Boxborough Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass. Cultural Council, a state agency. Their funding will provide a copy of David's book to the first 25 families from Acton and Boxborough to register by emailing First Connections: lmatthews@jri.org or calling 978-429-8284 x202. Please let us know how many adults and children will be attending. Recommended for ages 2-8. Free.
