misc_none 1:00 PM GENEAOLOGY WORKSHOP Remind Me about this Event   Tell a Friend

Geneaology Workshop with Marnie Oakes!

Learn to use Ancestry.com Library Edition at the Sargent Memorial Library Wednesday, September 9th, at 1:00 pm.

Have you seen the genealogy resources available to Boxborough patrons? Are wondering what all the ads from Ancestry.com are about and how you can get started with your own family history? Or, maybe you already use Ancestry.com to research your family, but only have the basic U. S. Discovery subscription.  In either case, sign up to learn more about the library’s Ancestry® subscription which provides access to more than 7,000 available databases with sources like censuses, vital records, immigration records, family histories, military records, court and legal documents, directories, photos, maps, and more.

Our session will cover how to begin using the database in the library, to search the World Explorer records that are included in the Library Edition (but not in the U.S. subscription), and how to save what you have found on your own flash drive or send the information to yourself by e-mail.

Space is limited so reserve your place today by Tuesday, September 8th.  Participants should come prepared with as much as they know (dates and places for birth, marriage, death or possible residence) about a relative living in the United States in 1940 or a specific non-U.S. research project.

To register call the library at 978-263-4680.

Many thanks to the Friends of the Library for making this program possible!
