Jasmine, a certified therapy dog will be visiting the Children's Room two times per month at 4:00 pm!

Children need to sign-up in advance to read to Jasmine.

Each "reading visit" lasts approximately 20 minutes, allowing enough time for Jasmine to enjoy a short story or a chapter of a book.

Children will increase their self-confindence and become excited about reading -- just by reading to Jasmine! Jasmine is a lovable, hypo-allergenic Labradoodle!

Jasmine and her owner/trainer Ruth Lull, are certified by Therapy Dogs International (TDI), a non-profit organization committed to helping people through pet assisted therapy.

Back by popular demand, the Sargent Memorial Library in Boxborough is pleased to host a return performance by the North Sea Gas on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 7 pm. 

One of Scotland’s most popular bands, with Guitars, Mandolin, Fiddle, Bouzouki, Bodhrans, Whistles, Banjo, great vocals with tremendous three part harmonies was founded in 1979, North Sea Gas have been performing their own brand of Scottish music all over the world.  Dave Gilfillan, Ronnie McDonald, and Grant Simpson will sings songs from their most recent album, The Fire in the Glen,  and The Passion of Scotland, which won the 2013 Album of the Year Award on Celtic Radio in Boston and the set of tunes from the same album won first place in the Jigs and Reels category.

This program is sponsored by the Whitcomb House Trust fund.  Everyone is welcome.

Coloring has been shown to reduce stress and increase calmness. No registration required.  Stop in and enjoy a relaxing hour of coloring and good company.  This program is free and sponsored by the generosity of the Friends of the Boxborough Library.

 6:30 PM on Monday, September 19, 2016 at the Sargent Memorial Library.

Do you know that missing your Medicare enrollment deadline could cost you money? This seminar offers a presentation and discussion led by a knowledgeable Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts representative. Topics include:

Explanation of Medicare Parts A, B, and C  -- Medicare enrollment timeline -- Medigap plans that help supplement Medicare coverage -- Medicare Advantage plans, such as HMOs and PPOs

Medicare Part D prescription drug plans -- Plans and programs available to early retirees, such as COBRA

On November 17, 2016 at 4:00 pm, the Sargent Memorial Library in Boxborough, MA will present a Nutcracker Story Reading.  Several dancers from the Commonwealth Ballet Company will bring the story to life in their elegant and colorful costumes. This is a wonderful opportunity for children to see and meet their favorite characters from the beloved story. The dancers will be available to answer questions and pose for photos with the children after the event.  A candy cane will be sent home with the children, along with a postcard about the ballet. We are delighted to share this wonderful story, and the dancers from the Commonwealth Ballet Company, with you! This program works best for children ages 4-10.
