Light Between Oceans byM.L. Stedman, New York Times best seller and now a Spielberg studio movie, will be discussed. Tom Sherburne returns from the Western Front to become a lighthouse keeper off the coast of Australia, miles from anyone. He brings his young and loving wife to share his life. She endures two miscarriages and a stillbirth when one day they hear the crying of a baby out on the ocean. A dead man and the baby wash up in a boat. The Sherburnes name the baby Lucy and make her their own. When they later return to the mainland the child's true story becomes revealed to them.

Brockton Public Schools Art Faculty proudly presents their annual exhibition at the Joseph A. Driscoll Gallery during the month of May, from May 10 to June 2. The art reception will be held on May 25, from 3 to 5 p.m. Meet your students' art teachers and enjoy viewing their amazing work! The art ranges from jewelry and photography to mixed media to paintings and sculpture. No wonder their students win so many awards.

Parents may also want to visit the Lingos Auditorium from May 23 to June 2 where the children's art will be on display: the best of grades kindergarten through 8th grade. This is always an astonishing take because of the diversity of the art and the level of skill displayed. Few school systems can rival this exhibit. Don't miss it!
