		Help us get ready to ‘Dig into Reading’ this summer by participating in our Summer Sunflower Contest! On June 5th, children will each get to pick out and decorate their own flower pot. Once the pot is decorated, we will work together to plant some sunflowers in our newly decorated flower pots. We then ask that you take the rest of the seeds home and plant them outside. Water all of your sunflowers every day and watch how they grow. On Friday, August 23rd @ 2:00PM we ask that you cut down a sunflower and bring it in to show us. We will have members from the Berlin Garden Club help judge the sunflowers in three categories: • The Tallest Flower • The Biggest Flower Head • The Prettiest Overall Flower This program is for children in grades K - 5. 		This reading is presented by Catherine Ladnier and Paul Janensch, the play’s authors.‘Dear Eva’ is a dramatic presentation featuring real letters from the World War II era. Most of the letters in the play were sent to Eva Lee Brown, Catherine’s mother, from relatives and friends. These authentic letters are candid, sad funny and moving. 		Author of Misadventures of a Garden State Yogi: My Humble Quest to Heal My Colitis, Calm My ADD and Find the Key to Happiness. As a college freshman suffering from a variety of anxiety-related maladies, Brian Leaf stumbled into an elective - yoga - which soothed and calmed him as nothing else had. 		Join us at the Berlin-Peck Memorial Library to create homemade seed paper! What is seed paper you ask? Seed paper is handmade paper that has real flower seeds embedded in the pulp itself and is actually plantable! We will work together to tear up old, used paper and UPcycle it into a new useful book mark. When you are done using your creation to keep your spot in a book, dig a hole in the yard and plant the paper. If you water it every day, you will soon have a beautiful wild flower garden. This is a fun and MESSY program. Please wear something that you can get messy in!
