Too Human with Bryan Rizzuto on Upright Bass
May 5 at 6:30 PM
Please join Ellen and Roger of Too Human in celebration of song, including the Great American Song Book and beyond.  Songs will feature jazzy bluesy originals and jazz standards.   Hailing from New York, both Ellen and Roger have had music in their lives from a very early age. Roger was studying accordion by the time he was 5 and Ellen was harmonizing by the age of 3. Over the years they both explored different musical genres and instruments, but what remained constant was singing, the song and the passion. They eventually became professional songwriters in Los Angeles, on staff with publishing giant Warner/Chappell Music, where they had their songs covered by a broad spectrum of recording artists including Cher, Pat Benatar, Teddy Pendergrass, Martha Davis (of the Motels), Angela Bofill, Agnetha Foltskog (of ABBA), Anne Murray, Nancy Wilson, and Ramsey Lewis. And their songs have been heard on TV shows including Fame, General Hospital and As the World Turns. But after a while they decided to give up the mainstream corporate music world, moved back east and became Too Human.  Registration is required.
This program is supported in part by a grant from the Blackstone Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. It is also funded in part by a grant from UniBank as part of the library’s Arts and Sciences Series.

Southwick’s Zoo Mobile for Adults and Young Adults
May 12 at 6:30 PM
Zoo Mobiles are not just for kids anymore! Almost everyone loves animals.  Not all adults and teens are able to go to the zoo. Imagine being able to attend a program at the local library and see animals in person and learn about them.  Earth Limited does an excellent job of combining a lecture component about animal ecology with the excitement of a live animal presentation.  This program is for adults and young adults ages 11 and older.

Registration is required.
This program is funded by a grant from UniBank as part of the library’s Arts and Sciences Series.
