The Just Mysteries Book Club is open to all adults and meets the fourth Friday of every month in the new Community Room in the South Wing.

On May 24, the group will be discussing Booked to Die by John Dunning.

Summary: In the first Cliff Janeway mystery, the Denver homicide detective loses his job after taking the law into his own hands by brutally assaulting a man suspected of killing a rare book collector, and continues to investigate the case by becoming a collector himself.

The Bookery is now located in the historic East Wing of the Bosler Library, 158 West High Street in Carlisle.

Mondays, April 15, 22 & 29, May 6, 20 & Tues. 28 from 6:45 - 8:45 pm
You want to write a short story but you don’t know where to start. You’ve found the right workshop. For six consecutive Mondays in Spring, join Ann Elia Stewart, novelist, teacher, workshop facilitator, in learning more about the elements that shape fiction: observation, point of view, characterization/dialogue, plot and significant detail.  Examples for each topic are provided from contemporary fiction short stories or novel excerpts; homework may be assigned. At least twenty minutes per session are allotted for in-class freewriting. Age 15 or older, please. This class has been brought back by popular demand! Seats fill up quickly. Registration begins March 15.

Homework Helpers are available after school for students grades 1 thru 5. The volunteer helpers are experienced educators ready to help with all subjects. Students are responsible to bring all textbooks, homework sheets, instructions and related materials. Students can also receive instruction on researching topics and preparing projects. A parent/caregiver must remain in the children's library during the instruction. Students should meet in the lower lobby at 3:30 pm.

ORDER ONLINE, by mail or at the library through Sunday, June 23rd!
The Blueberries & Books Fundraiser is back!
April 1 through June 23, the Fredricksen Library will be pre-selling 10 lb. boxes of fresh blueberries from New Jersey. It will be a fun and delicious way to kick off summer, AND it will help the Library raise additional funds! Once again, we'll have gift cards available for Mother's Day, Father's Day and general gift-giving. We’ll also highlight some of our favorite blueberry and baking books and pull together some of our favorite blueberry recipes for you to enjoy. You can pre-order your blueberries at the reference desk, or order ONLINE from our website and pay securely through PayPal. Cost will be $30 per 10 lb. box. If you are ordering, please be aware that blueberries will be available for ONE DAY PICKUP ONLY due of lack of overnight storage space. This year's pickup date will be June 27 - in time for your July 4th picnic recipes!

The Book Sale is held in the Foundation House located at the corner of Ninth and Sharon Streets adjacent to the New Cumberland Public Library.

    Donation Station @ Fredricksen
First Saturday of every month from 1 pm to 3 pm
The Friends of Fredricksen will hold Donation Station on the first Saturday of every month from 1 pm to 3 pm to process the donation of books and media for our Spring and Fall Book sales.  Volunteers will be able to assist unloading your donations.  We hope to provide convenience to you, our donors, and streamline our process for donations.  During Donation Station hours, please park on the Walnut Street side parking area at the lower level employee entrance door.  Donations at all other times can be given at the reference desk.
