    Contact: Kimberly White   203-272-2245 x 33034   kwhite@cheshirelibrary.org

A born sounder and mover, your baby is already equipped with the means and potential to make music. You've probably noticed how they respond when you play a song in the car or sing them a song to soothe them. Developing your baby's natural musicality will open the door to a world of possibility, not only for music learning but for all learning. We invite you to try out this demonstration of a Music Together Babies Class for families with infants from birth through eight months of age. In this class, the activities are specifically designed to teach you how to support music development in infancy and how to connect with your baby through music using methods such as "purposeful touch", "sound-layering",  and "dancing for baby".

Music Together an internationally recognized early childhood music program. This research-based, developmentally appropriate early childhood music curriculum strongly encourages adult involvement and emphasizes actual music experiences rather than concepts about music.

This class is presented by Michele Urban from Musical Folk.

This program is for babies (newborn through 8 months) and their caregivers. In order to give our youngest patrons a safe space of their own, we request no older siblings, please.

They called the steep valley of Connecticut’s Naugatuck River, "Brass Valley,” because from the time the world began running on steam and bearings, trolleys and soot, the Naugatuck Valley came to be where most of the world’s brass manufacturing happened. Brass Valley: The Fall of an American Industry (Schiffer Books, 2015) is a book of pictures and stories about how it all happened.

Are you looking to give back to your community? Fulfill a community service requirement? Have fun? Consider becoming a member of the Cheshire Council of Advisory Teens (Cheshire CATs). Just what IS Cheshire CATS you ask? It's a group of dedicated teens who are interested in making a difference at the Cheshire Public Library. Members will play a critical role in developing the library's young adult collection, young adult outreach, event planning and marketing, and making the library a friendlier place for young adults. Members will meet monthly, earn community service credit and will have a direct impact on teen life at the library.
