Chicago – 2002, 113 minutes

Velma Kelly is the sexy vaudeville star who murders her husband and sister after finding them in bed together. Roxie is the wannabe vaudeville star who kills her lover after finding out he was never going to make her famous. Enter Billy Flynn, the greasy lawyer whose goal is not only to have his clients acquitted, but to make them legal legends. Billy, who apparently likes Roxie's angle (He tried to kill me) better than Velma's (I blacked out and can't remember a thing). With help from Matron Mama Morton both women vie for the spot as Illinois's most famed murderess, but there's only room for one legend... "That's Chicago".

    Contact: Kimberly White    203-272-2245   kwhite@cheshirelibrary.org

Wednesdays: May 4, May 11, May 18, May 25 (This class will meet 4 times.)

When a baby waves "bye-bye" or points at what she wants, she is signing! It is natural for babies to communicate with signs. Baby Signing Time Play and Sign classes give babies the signs they need to express their needs and wants. Original and clever songs make learning signs fun and easy. Baby Signing Time Play and Sign classes teach American Sign Language (ASL). ASL signs are straightforward and are easy for parents, caregivers and children to learn. As a parent or caregiver, you do not need to become fluent in ASL, even learning a few signs like ‘milk’, ‘eat’ and ‘more’ can be helpful.

Signing with your hearing child is effective in reducing tantrums and frustration, creates a wonderful opportunity for bonding, and research has suggested that signing encourages an interest in books and higher IQ scores than babies who did not use hand gestures.

Ages birth to 2 years with caregiver.

Registration required.

Lehman will discuss his new book Homegrown Terror, highlighting Arnold's transformation- the point where he went from betraying his comrades to massacring his neighbors. Hatha means forceful in Sanskrit and has traditionally been used to describe the physical or postural aspect of the science of yoga, meant to strengthen and discipline the body, preparing the mind for meditation. In this series, participants will experience gentle stretching, basic postures (asana), breathing techniques (pranayama), and guided meditation. This slower-paced series is a good place for those looking to begin a yoga practice or to learn more about what yoga is and experience some fundamental practices and philosophy.
