Support Citizens Library on WCCF Gives Day. 

Beginning at 8 a.m. on September 9, all gifts made to participating charities via www.wccfgives.org and all designated WCCF Gives check contributions received on that day will be increased by part of a bonus pool, estimated to be $100,000.  The minimum contribution is only $25, but donors are welcome to give as much and to as many charities as they would like during WCCF Gives.  Share in the excitement of this special event by supporting your favorite local charities through WCCF Gives, Washington County’s official community-wide day of giving.

Fall Story Time Registration

           Registration begins Tuesday, September 22 for the fall sessions of Preschool and Toddler Story Times, and the Story Times themselves begin in October.

  • Preschool Story Time, for ages 3-5, is on Tuesdays, 2:00 – 2:30, from October 6 through December 8. 
  • Toddler Story Times are on Wednesday mornings from October 7 through December 9.  Toddler Story Times are:  10:30 – 11:00 for ages 1 ½ to 2 years, and 11:30 – 12:00 for ages 2 ½ to 3 years.

           Registration is required for all story times.  Call 724-222-2400, ext. 235 or stop in the Children’s Department for more information or to register; “Parent’s Guide to Story Time” brochures are available at the desk.

Everyone has a story to tell. In this fun and informative workshop, Ann K. Howley, author of an award-winning memoir, will discuss:

  • Practical advice on publishing options

Using humor and a lighthearted approach, Ann wants to inspire you to write the story of your life!

Ann K. Howley is the author of the award-winning Confessions of a Do-Gooder Gone Bad, a humorous coming-of-age memoir published by Oak Tree Press in 2014. She is a regular contributor to Pittsburgh Parent Magazine and her essays have appeared in publications nationwide, including skirt! Magazine, Bicycle Times Magazine, the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, LA Reader, Parentinghumor.com, Clever Magazine, and The Inkwell. Ann also recently won the 1st Place Prize for Nonfiction in the 2015 Pennwriters Writing Contest.
