As part of the Concord Free Public Library's technology planning, we invite the public to participate in one of the two focus groups led by consultant Jennifer Koerber. She will guide the group through conversations about what their technology needs from the library are now, and what they might need or be interested in over the next 3-5 years. Jennifer will also lead a creative brainstorming session to help uncover some untapped opportunities.

Please register to participate in the focus group.  All are welcome.

Check out a copy of the selected bookbook (starting on November 29th) at the library, pick a recipe (we'll keep track to avoid duplicates), and prepare it for the program. We'll sample lots of good food, talk about what worked and what didn't, and select future cookbooks.

Author Shelley Drake Hawks will discuss her book, The Art of Resistance: Painting by Candlelight in Mao’s China.  The book follows the lives of seven painters during China’s Cultural Revolution, a time when they were considered counter-revolutionary and forbidden to paint. Drawing on interviews with the artists and their families and on materials collected during her visits to China, Hawks examines their painting styles, political outlooks, and life experiences.

Shelley Drake Hawks teaches art history and world history at Middlesex Community College in Massachusetts.
