Dr. Kenneth Graf was a draftee during the Vietnam War who completed his service in the reserves in 1976. Following the tragic events of September 11, 2001 he decided to give everything he had to enter the military once again. In 2003, with the support of his wife, Graf enlisted in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. His job was to treat the wounded, whether they were a soldier, civilian, or enemy combatant and Graf and his team saved many lives. He left as a full colonel and is now a surgeon near the Harrisburg area. Visit The Library to hear more about Dr. Graf’s experiences with military medicine. Find out what it was like returning to military service at the age of 60 and how this impacted his work as a surgeon. Following the program, participants will have the opportunity to write a letter of appreciation and support to members of the military, past and present.
