    Explore the world of healthy eating (and cooking) with books, rhymes, songs and, of course, food! Each week, we'll explore a different type of food or meal and how to prepare it together. We'll even toss in some math and science activities and listen to stories that relate to the food we're learning about. It all adds up to a delicious time for everyone.     Children are introduced to yoga poses and the letters of the alphabet. Participants are introduced to each letter of the alphabet through vocal pronunciation of the letter and yoga poses related to words that begin with the letter. Each letter features a corresponding yoga pose (A for airplane, L for lion, for example). The program also includes sign language words. This program is sure to spark learning of both language and body movement.

    Join certified therapy dogs for a fun session of reading. These dogs and their owners love to be read to. This is a special program that encourages children who may be reluctant readers to read to the easiest and most willing audience, a dog. Each child will have an opportunity to read to the dog for about 15 minutes. Registration for this program is by appointment. Please contact Youth Services Programming & Outreach at 566-0949 ext 217 to schedule a time.
