ent_film-reel 7:00 PM No Place For Hate: The Book Thief Remind Me about this Event Download Event Info Tell a Friend
    Contact: Sandra Giannella   610.623.0239 ex 307   ladirector@delcolibraries.org

Starting Thursday, April 24 at 7 PM, No Place for Hate movies are back with the The Book Thief based on the beloved best-selling book by Markus Zusak.

 Rated PG-13   131 min

This profoundly moving story can be read before or after viewing the movie about a girl who transforms the lives of those around her during World War II, Germany. Although Liesel is illiterate when she is adopted by a German couple (OSCAR Winners Geoffrey Rush and Emily Watson), her adoptive father encourages her to learn to read. Ultimately, the power of words helps Liesel and Max (Ben Schnetzer), a Jew hiding in the family's home, escape from the events unfolding around them in this extraordinary, acclaimed film directed by Brian Percival (Downton Abbey).

Stay for the discussion on book to movie, or if you haven’t read the book first, a dialogue about issues presented in the movie that became a “place for Hate”.

Free popcorn served. Bring your own beverage.
