The term “sleep apnea” refers to interruptions in breathing during sleep. As many as 4 percent of men and 2 percent of women suffer from sleep apnea, making it one of the most common sleep disorders in the United States. A team of physicians from Penn Medicine (Penn Sleep Centers) will be on-hand to discuss specific treatments for sleep apnea.

For Adult Participants

Come join Ginny Conover and Linnie Kerrigan-Greenberg for a fun, collaborative 2-hour collage workshop. No skills required. All materials supplied. The Library will pay your materials fee, so please RSVP

If desired, bring photocopy of personal photo, ephemera or other memorabilia.  (Not necessary – you will still create a personalized work of art that reflects you and you’re your interests using images and materials provided.)

Collage is a very old art form with beginnings in Asia.  Picasso and Braque popularized the medium and brought it into the realm of Fine Art in the 1940s. It’s the most democratic and forgiving of all art genres. Anyone can do it.

The ancient Egyptians understood anatomy and also practiced medicine. The lecture will study actual cases from recent excavations.  Dr. Stephen Phillips returns to entertain and enlighten us on this facination subject.  This is a Social and Civic Literacy Program of the PA Forward Initiative.

One evening in late November 1949, two brothers killed their father. Despite pleading guilty, they were acquitted of the crime. Come learn the shocking details of this true local story from author Thomas George Deitman.

Mr. Deitman is a former Delaware County police officer, firefighter and paralegal. He is a member of the Delaware County Historical Society and spent ten years as a local councilman with various leadership positions. He is retired and lives in Brookhaven where he writes and researches.

In 1862, President Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation opened the door for African Americans to enlist in the Union Army.  In spite of their many hardships, African American soldiers served the Union Army well and distinguished themselves in many battles.  Professor Jeffrey LaMonica from Delaware County Community College will illuminate the topic.  This is a Social and Civic Literacy Program of the PA Forward Initiative.

Our country has only one professional Beatles scholar, and he will be at the Upper Darby/Sellers Library! As a teacher and speaker, Aaron Krerowicz is in high demand for his educational presentations and seminars.

During "The Beatles: Band of the Sixties," you'll explore the group's music in a 60-minute multimedia presentation (part history and part musical analysis) spanning the full 1960s: beginning with the band's seminal visits to Hamburg, continuing through Beatlemania, and concluding with Abbey Road. The program will be supplemented with audio clips of music and excerpts from interviews with the band members.

This FREE program is open to the general public and will be held in the library's 2nd floor meeting room. Please note that there is no elevator.
