Main Line Health Homecare and Hospice, in cooperation with St. Alban's Episcopal Church, present the first in a series on critical public health issues. This program is based upon Dr. Atul Gawande's bestselling book, "Being Mortal", which addresses one of the medical profession's profound spiritual and physical tensions: the desire and expectation of doctors to treat and extend life in contrast to achieving quality of life for patients and their families.

Main Line Health’s Terre Mirsch will serve as moderator and will be joined by other staff from Main Line Health who have experience in end-of-life care and coping with families, healthcare professionals and patients' concerns and needs.

Program is not held at Newtown Public Library but at St. Alban's Episcopal Church's Parish Hall at 3625 Chapel Road, Newtown Square, PA.

We will watch

BROOKLYN in May!

Council Room

Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 2pm

BROOKLYN tells the profoundly moving story of Eilis Lacey (Saoirse Ronan), a young Irish immigrant navigating her way through 1950s Brooklyn. Lured by the promise of America, Eilis departs Ireland and the comfort of her mother's home for the shores of New York City. The initial shackles of homesickness quickly diminish as a fresh romance sweeps Eilis into the intoxicating charm of love. But soon, her new vivacity is disrupted by her past, and Eilis must choose between two countries and the lives that exist within.

“Saoirse Ronan lights up the screen in the year's best and most beguiling love story. The surprise is that it also goes deeper, sadder and truer.” -Peter Travers, Rolling Stone

“Ms. Ronan uses everything - her posture, her eyebrows, her breath, her teeth, her pores - to convey a process of change that is both seismic and subtle.” -A.O. Scott, New York Times

A good business plan is the key element for launching or growing a business enterprise. But the business plan is not a "once and done" document to be put on the shelf. Successful businesses know how to use the business plan to run their enterprises. This presentation focuses on what a business plan is and what it is not. The attendee will learn why the business plan is so important and how it is used to make a variety of business decisions. The presentation concludes with a discussion of the various components of the business plan and their place in the document.

Presented by Bob Wingerter and Chester and Delaware County SCORE, a non-profit organization providing free professional guidance and information to assist in starting or growing a business by offering free mentoring and regularly scheduled workshops and seminars.
