The scientific community has recently been exploring the use of meditation as a healing modality.  Join Jim Rose, M Ed. Rutgers University, retired executive at Johnson & Johnson and  long time meditator, as he discusses the extraordinary effect of meditation.  It can reduce stress-related responses, improve concentration, enhance clarity of thought and mental equilibrium.  He will also present a simple, yet powerful meditation technique that can enrich one’s life personally, professionally, spiritually and help with seasonal stress.

The program is free and open to the public.  No registration required.

Radnor Historical Society, Radnor Memorial Library and the First Baptist Church of Wayne co-sponsor a presentation of selected oral histories of some residents of Mt. Pleasant, Tredyffrin Township, a predominately African American community. Gathered over the years, the oral histories were compiled by Cabrini University students for a class titled, “Democracy and Diversity”, taught by Sharon Schwarze, PhD. Many of Mt. Pleasant’s current residents are descendants of people who settled  here in the early 1900’s as part of the Great Migration.   Held at First Baptist Church of Wayne, 1012 Upper Gulph Rd, Wayne, PA 19087.

Join us for this month's new DVD release, Florence Foster Jenkins (© Paramount Pictures, 2016).

Set in 1940s New York, Florence Foster Jenkins is the true story of the legendary socialite (Meryl Streep) who obsessively pursued her dream of becoming a great singer. The voice she heard in her head was beautiful, but to everyone else it was awful. Her husband and manager, St. Clair Bayfield (Hugh Grant), an aristocratic English actor, was determined to protect his beloved Florence from the truth. But when Florence decided to give a public concert at Carnegie Hall, he faced his greatest challenge.

Join us for this month's new DVD release, Florence Foster Jenkins (© Paramount Pictures, 2016).

Set in 1940s New York, Florence Foster Jenkins is the true story of the legendary socialite (Meryl Streep) who obsessively pursued her dream of becoming a great singer. The voice she heard in her head was beautiful, but to everyone else it was awful. Her husband and manager, St. Clair Bayfield (Hugh Grant), an aristocratic English actor, was determined to protect his beloved Florence from the truth. But when Florence decided to give a public concert at Carnegie Hall, he faced his greatest challenge.

Rated PG-13

This free progam will be held in the library's 2nd floor meeting room. There is no elevator.

Saturday March 18th from 7:00 PM  to  9:00 PM the Friends of the Aston Public Library will present Spring Bingo!  Doors open at 5:30PM.  Admission is $20.  All prizes will be in cash!  Food and refreshments will be sold as well as bingo supplies.  There will also be special raffles!  All proceeds benefit the library!  There will also be special games, food, and bingo supplies sold. 

The event will be operated by our Friends of the Library volunteers and proceeds will support the Library!
