Radnor Memorial Library is offering a unique Yoga storytime that incorporates sensory experience designed for children age 3-7 with special needs. Led by instructor Gaby Chabrier, Sensory Yoga is held in the Winsor Room and will include stories, stretches, breathing and relaxation exercises, and movement activities, with an additional focus on parent resources. Kids Yoga

Ms Lisa will read a story to the kids and then incorporate different yoga poses that relate to the book! There are breathing techniques, balancing games, and so many benefits your kids will take from the class! For kids grades K-5.

Registration is not required. The library provides yoga mats, just come in your comfy clothes!

It's Baby Story Time with a lot of movement!  Infants and their caregivers are encouraged to act out the stories as they are being read.  Stories, fingerplays, songs, dancing, and toys are used to get babies to learn and love reading! 
Registration is NOT required, but participation IS!

Our Own Stories

In this nontraditional Preschool Story Time, books are read to preschoolers who love to read!  Songs, rhymes, fingerplays, and toys are used to help kids learn and love to read.  At the end of story time the kids are invited to put laminated pieces on a scene board and tell everyone their story that they created.  A great way to encourage imagination, creativity, and story-building!

Block party pic 18   A Block Party is a 45 minute to an hour long free play session with a set of universal blocks, people, vehicles, animals, scarves and other materials where families with young children have the freedom to build and play as they wish.

With the materials provided to Aston Library by a grant through the Pennsylvania State Library, families with young children will build and experiment, manipulate objects, work with others, count and measure, and build vocabulary. 

This program is open to anyone who wishes to attend. There are 2 rules---no throwing blocks and no knocking down anyone else's structure.

No registration is required.

Through classes held in local public libraries and taught by certified teachers, this program gets students entering 2nd -6th grade excited about science with hands-on experiments. Classes are small with 16 students each, so be sure to register early!

Keville Bowen (Kebiru Sketch) takes a look into the common themes seen in Japanese Anime and explains the connection to Japanese culture to deepen our understanding of the medium.

Our Own Stories

In this nontraditional Preschool Story Time, books are read to preschoolers who love to read!  Songs, rhymes, fingerplays, and toys are used to help kids learn and love to read.  At the end of story time the kids are invited to put laminated pieces on a scene board and tell everyone their story that they created.  A great way to encourage imagination, creativity, and story-building!

Dance Me a Story

Friday, May 13th @ 10:30am

For ages 2-5 years old!!
 
Each class starts in a circle with a warm-up and gross-motor skills around the room. The dance teacher, Ms Lisa Oster, uses dance terms throughout the class (plié, releve, passé, chasse). She also incorporates a bit of yoga in the warm up. Then each class features a story with movement and accompanying music. Class ends with Freeze dance into a cool down." Parents stay in the room, but must keep conversations to minimum.Parents may join in if it helps their child but in general the kids participate on their own.
 
REGISTER ONLY THE CHILD YOU WILL BE BRINGING and Click "Add Guest" for each additional child. (We don't want too many bodies taking up all the dance floor space!)

Our Own Stories

In this nontraditional Preschool Story Time, books are read to preschoolers who love to read!  Songs, rhymes, fingerplays, and toys are used to help kids learn and love to read.  At the end of story time the kids are invited to put laminated pieces on a scene board and tell everyone their story that they created.  A great way to encourage imagination, creativity, and story-building!

Keville Bowen (Kebiru Sketch) takes a look into the common themes seen in Japanese Anime and explains the connection to Japanese culture to deepen our understanding of the medium.

This program runs for 4 weeks: Wednesdays May 4, 11, 18, 25 from 4pm-5pm. This program is suitable for children ages 8-14. Families are welcome with older and/or younger children. In this Toddler story time, kids act out the books as they are being read, making them feel part of the story!  Stories, songs, fingerplays, rhymes, and toys help toddlers learn and love to read!

Our Own Stories

In this nontraditional Preschool Story Time, books are read to preschoolers who love to read!  Songs, rhymes, fingerplays, and toys are used to help kids learn and love to read.  At the end of story time the kids are invited to put laminated pieces on a scene board and tell everyone their story that they created.  A great way to encourage imagination, creativity, and story-building!

Registration is NOT required. Tuesdays at 1:30pm

(Children learn best through role modeling. Caregivers are asked to be great role models and be attentive and engaged in the story time. Side conversations can take place during free play. Thanks!)

Keville Bowen (Kebiru Sketch) takes a look into the common themes seen in Japanese Anime and explains the connection to Japanese culture to deepen our understanding of the medium.

This program runs for 4 weeks: Wednesdays May 4, 11, 18, 25 from 4pm-5pm. This program is suitable for children ages 8-14. Families are welcome with older and/or younger children. Younger children are required to have an adult 18+ with them at all times. Program will be held at the back of the library. 

NO REGISTRATION IS NECESSARY.

Block party pic 18   A Block Party is a 45 minute to an hour long free play session with a set of universal blocks, people, vehicles, animals, scarves and other materials where families with young children have the freedom to build and play as they wish.

With the materials provided to Aston Library by a grant through the Pennsylvania State Library, families with young children will build and experiment, manipulate objects, work with others, count and measure, and build vocabulary. 

This program is open to anyone who wishes to attend. There are 2 rules---no throwing blocks and no knocking down anyone else's structure.

4TH & 5TH GRADE BOOK CLUB

For 4th and 5th grade students.This is a fun, monthly book group that meets at the Upper Darby Municipal Library on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 4:30 - 5:30pm. Participants are required to read a book which is then discussed at the meeting. A snack is provided. 

Registration is required.  No need to re-register each month as long as you continue to attend.
