The first ten participants will receive a copy of the book, American Born Chinese by Gene Luen Yang. Participants will then be invited to attend a cooking class at Wayne Arts Center on March 13, 6:00-7:00PM. Teen Reading Lounge is a program of the Pennsylvania Humanities Council and supported in part by the National Endowment for the Humanities. Comic Book Club for Teens

This 5day-2hr classes will teach the beginner's guide to making your own comic. Learn simple character design, storytelling and page layout in your 6-8 page comic. Finished comics will be compiled into one group comic and self published a month later. Taught by Keville Bowen, professional comic book artist and animator.

 

Please only sign-up if you are able to make at least 4 of the sessions, including the first session as this is a continuing course that builds upon the previous week's work.

 

 

This project is made possible by a grant from the Institue of Museum and Library Services as administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education through the Office of Commonwealth Libraries, and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Tom Wolf, Governor.
