Comic Book Club for Teens

This 5day-2hr classes will teach the beginner's guide to making your own comic. Learn simple character design, storytelling and page layout in your 6-8 page comic. Finished comics will be compiled into one group comic and self published a month later. Taught by Keville Bowen, professional comic book artist and animator.

 

Please only sign-up if you are able to make at least 4 of the sessions, including the first session as this is a continuing course that builds upon the previous week's work.

 

 

This project is made possible by a grant from the Institue of Museum and Library Services as administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education through the Office of Commonwealth Libraries, and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Tom Wolf, Governor.

Join us to discuss books on the immigrant experience featuring a guest speaker and international candy guessing contest on Friday, March 3 from 6:00 to 7:00PM. The first ten participants will receive a copy of the book, American Born Chinese by Gene Luen Yang. Participants will then be invited to attend a cooking class at Wayne Arts Center on March 27, 6:30-8:30PM. When & where is a history club for middle school students. One evening a month, we pick a histoircal figure or event and dig deeper into the past. We examine historical documents, have trivia challenges,eat occasional snacks, and conduct experiments. This month we will be exploring Irish immigration when we welcome Dr. William Watson to give a talks about the local history of Duffy's Cut.
