Kick off the Summer Reading Club at the Radnor Memorial Library with field paleontologists, Mike and Roberta Straka, and their friend Mr. Nixon, an eight-foot Triceratops skull. Families with school-age children are invited to the Winsor Room on Thursday, June 13 at 6:30pm. Registration is not required. Middletown Free Library will be hosting this Spring an Historical Lecture Series on World War I. The series will be led by local historian Andrew Miller.
Friday, May 17th @ 10:30 AM ~ Europe on the Brink: 1914
Friday, June 14th @ 10:30 AM ~ Armies, Navies and Trench Warfare: 1914-1917
Friday, July 12th @ 10:30 AM ~ The Americans "Over There," 1917-1918
Friday, August 9th @ 10:30 AM ~ The Treaty of Versailles and Road to World War II
Suggested reading for this program includes "All Quiet on the Western Front" by Erich Maria Remarque and "The Guns of August," by Barbara Tuchman. Both titles can be checked out from the Delaware County Library System.
