This program, presented by New York City-based linguist Jennifer Hamano, explores bilingualism across the life span. Jennifer teaches language related courses at Lehman College, and conducts research at the Second Language Acquisition Laboratory at the CUNY Graduate Center. This program is free and open to the public.

New York City-based sculptor and special effects artist Shinya Hamano wants to show you how to freak out your friends and petrify your parents! First, he'll demonstrate how a regular person can transform into a horrific zombie in 30 minutes or less. Then, it's your turn! Learn how to apply fake scars and gashes to your own skin using paint and gelatin.

Shinya has worked on prosthetics for the TV show Gotham, and several projects for design company Dark Igloo. To check out Shinya's portfolio, visit SHSculptureDesignStudio.blogspot.com or find him on facebook at SHsculpturedesign-studio. As it will contain lifelike depictions of blood and gore, this program is not recommended for children under 12. Emmy Award winning puppeteer Nancy Sander puts a new spin on this traditional tale. No more is there the rather prissy tea-sipping dragon of yesteryear; we now have Dragonia, a female poetry dragon. And stealing the show is Rory, her "all-boy" son. Rory has no interest in poetry and only wants to "smoke the town." Oh yes, there still is Saint George--but now he's up in his nineties and can't quite remember what he's been sent to the mountain to accomplish. You will laugh straight into next week! Open to all ages, but seating is limited, so get there early!
