Discover the art of beautiful Chinese writing. Learn the six basic strokes used to form Chinese characters and use a graph to place the letters. Create your own scroll using brush, ink, rice paper and authentic seals.
For children in grades 1-6.

Dr. Linda Opyr will conduct a Winter Poetry Workshop. Dr. Opyr is the author of six collections of poetry and has been published in numerous journals and magazines. Participants in the workshop will have the opportunity to write poetry and share what they’ve written. Bring paper and a pen and the desire to expand your knowledge and enjoyment of writing good poems!

• Priority is given to Elmont residents and cardholders

Elmont Memorial Library Registration Policy for Storytimes and Book Clubs
Due to the nature of storytimes, the Sign w/ Me: Mommy and me, Tater Tots (American Sign Language programs), and book club programs, i.e. a progressive build up to literacy, only Elmont Library card holders who are registered for these programs may attend. If a storytime, ASL program, or book club has a full registration, please note that you will not be able to participate, even if there are openings on any particular day.
Please understand that if you are registered and arrive more than 10 minutes late for a program, you will not be able to participate.

George (Sandler) is a very successful comedian who learns he has an untreatable disease. George's doctor gives him less than a year to live. One night these two men meet and George hires Ira to be his semi-personal assistant. throughout the movie George and Ira for a close bond. But when George learns that his disease has gone into remission and an old flame (Leslie Mann) reenters his life, recent near death experience inspires him to reevaluate what is important to him and what truly gives meaning to his life.
