The ELPL is hosting a Creative Writing Workshop for teens ages 13 and up. Be prepared to write, read, and share your work; receive constructive feedback; learn the fundamentals of fiction; and explore two of the most popular literary genres – Science Fiction and Fantasy. This workshop is open to aspiring authors at all levels. Bring paper and pen (or laptop/tablet), and your imagination!

This workshop will be taught by Jennifer Gaboury, BA in English (AIC), MA in English (UMass Amherst); current MFA-W student (Goddard College); former English tutor (STCC Writing Center); specialization in speculative fiction.

Registration is required as space is limited. Please stop by the library’s Circulation Desk or call us at 413-525-5400, x1511 to register.

Parent Cafe: Keeping Privates Private 

This free Parent Cafe: Keeping Privates Private is intended to teach parents (and other adults concerned about the well-being of children) how to protect children from sexual abuse. The focus of the Cafe will be learning how to use the book to talk to pre-school and elementary aged kids (3-8) about staying safe from sexual abuse. 

All participants will receive a copy of a children's book on body safety. Enter to win prizes!

This event is for adults only. No childcare provided.

This adventure is about Moana, a teenager who goes on a mission to save her people. During her journey, she meets the once-mighty demigod Maui, who helps her. Together they sail across the ocean and encounter enormous monsters and impossible odds. Along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she always sought: her own identity.

All ages welcome along with a caregiver. Rated PG.

  Earth Rhythms with Roger Tincknell!

From rainforests to recycling, conservation to compost, Roger Tincknell will entertain and educate about environmental awareness and responsibility with captivating songs, stories, legends, and facts. The Earth Rhythms program uses a variety of instruments including a Native American rainstick, Incan Charango, flute, Russian balalaika, African Achika drum, as well as guitar, mandolin, banjo, and harmonica.
