Picture book author David Hyde Costello’s character Little Pig is back with a new ship-building and sailing adventure. More than just a reading, children will relate to small-but-capable Little Pig and get ideas for using natural materials creatively.

Islam is one of the major world religions, yet many in the United States know little about it. Mona Ives will give a presentation on the the six primary beliefs of all Muslims, the five pillars of practice of Muslims, Islamic moral values, and Islamic customs around food and attire. She welcomes and encourages questions from the public.

  ONE BOOK for All: STEM in Action, Renewable Energy!

Learn about renewable energy and how it helps build a better world! Bay Path Women in STEM (WiSH) will present and lead hands-on STEM activities, teaching about energy resources and encouraging scientific inquiry. Join the scientists in creating a watermill, mini windmills, and heat color changing slime to discover how the three main renewable energy sources work!

For children ages 6 – 10 who are participating in ONE BOOK for ALL.

Image result for you'll like it here bookEnjoy a reading and discussion with local author Ed Orzechowski and Donald Vitkus as they discuss Orzechowski's book, You’ll Like it Here: Donald Vitkus - Belchertown Patient #3394.

The book describes the life of Donald Vitkus, who was born during World War II and given up to the state when he was just 27 days old. At age 3, he was misdiagnosed with an IQ of 41 and clinically labeled a "moron." He then landed in Belchertown State School at age 6. This is a story of the resiliency of the human spirit. (Belchertown State School was closed in 1992 following a federal class-action lawsuit.)
