First Day of Summer Reading!

 Hurray! Hurray! It's finally here....the 2013 Summer Reading Program: "Dig into Reading!" Leroy (the ELPL dragon mascot) has lost his treasure and he needs your help to find it! Join us as we visit Critter’s Burrow, a Construction Site, a Dino Dig, a Gem Mine, and Lost Civilizations all with out leaving the library!
Here’s how it works:
1. Sign up online (starting June 17th).
2. Come into the Children’s Dept. during summer reading hours (M-W 10AM-7:30PM, TH-F 10AM-4:30PM) to get your program guide and reading log (and treasure map!)
3. Read at the beach, read at the park, read in your room, read upside down…however you want…just read! And, record (in your reading log) every hour read. Not reading yet? It still counts when someone is reading to you!
4. Come back to the library during the summer reading program (June 17-Aug 2nd) to get raffle tickets! 1 hour of reading = 1 ticket! Put the tickets in for a chance to win some of the awesome prizes! (pictures coming soon!)
5. Attend a puppet show, listen to some music, play some games and attend all of the great programs!

Grab your little one and get ready to shake, rattle & read! This story time is geared for the very youngest patrons and is filled with fingerplays, music, bubbles, movement and more! Learn tips and tricks to have a fulfilling reading time with your baby. This story time will begin and end with free play providing opportunity to meet and mingle.

Learn all about fossils as you travel to different stations and explore science in an exciting, hands on way. The program is hosted by Behavioral Health Network.

Join us as we welcome the very talented Parent's Choice award winning Roger Tincknell for his wonderful program of music and movement: Songs for the Enviorment.
Earth Rhythmsis an interactive music program that celebrates the natural world, teaches environmental awareness and encourages personal responsibility. Lively songs, interesting facts and humor combined with audience participation make this an ideal school assembly program or public concert for all ages. Audiences are invited to participate through singing, moving and playing Latin percussion.
