Hear from Andrew Pighills; an accomplished stone artisan, gardener and horticulturist as he discusses the development and evolution of stone walls and structures in England and New England, from colonial times to the present day, and explains how they fit into the garden and wider landscape of the past and present.

Andrew Pighills has been featured in the NYT, Yankee Magazine, and on Martha Stewart Living Radio.

This writing workshop, conducted in the Amherst Writers and Artists (AWA) Method, is open to writers at all levels of experience and confidence. We will write together using an exploratory, creative approach that encourages experimentation and the development of craft in a supportive, constructive environment.

 Read to Cassie the Therapy Dog!

Cassie is back and wanting to hear a story!

This popular program is especially for beginning and reluctant readers who could benefit from additional reading practice. Reading to a therapy dog  provides a non-stressful, non-judgmental environment helping to increase self-confidence and improve literacy skills.

Please register in the Children's Department for a 10-minute time slot.

  Fall Storytime registration begins Wednesday, September 28th!

East Longmeadow residents register on Wednesday, September 28th @ 9:30 AM in person or 10:00 AM by phone or email. Residents of all other towns are welcome to register Thursday, Sept. 29th. Storytime sessions begin the week of October 3rd and will run for 7 weeks.                                                                                                                                                

Registration is required for the following storytimes:  

Shake, Rattle, and Read (birth to 17 months) held Fridays at 9:45 AM or (18 months to 2 1/2 yrs.) at 10:45 AM. Babies and toddlers (with caregiver) love to read, sing, and play along with Ms. Michele!

Tike Time (age 2 to 3 1/2) held Tuesdays or Wednesdays at 10:30 AM with Ms. Kay. This program encourages young ones (with a caregiver) to sit, listen and participate through stories, flannels, songs and more!

Preschool Storytime (age 3 and up) held Mondays at 1:00 PM  with Ms. Michele or Thursdays at 10:30 AM with Ms. Jenny. This independent story and activity time include stories, songs, crafts and more.

No registration for the following "drop-in" programs:                                                                                                                

Pajama Night held Wednesday evenings @ 6:30 PM for ages 3-6. This silly and play-filled story time with Ms. Sam has an extra special advantage- attending in your PJ’s! 

Books & Babies held on Monday mornings @ 10:30 AM for birth to age 2. Sponsored through Pathways for Parents.
