Then Hitler came to power, and their world turned upside down." Learn how strength of spirit and faith enabled the Dreifuss family to remain optimistic and resilient during their struggle to leave Germany and to make new lives for themselves in America.

A graduate of Connecticut College and Brown University, Alice Goldstein served for 25 years as a Research Associate at Brown's Population Studies and Training Center. Active in RI's Holocaust Education and Resource Center, Alice speaks in public schools as a Holocaust Survivor. This program is free and open to all.

    Contact: Joyce May   435-1986   jmay@eplib.org
Dylan Thomas' A Child's Christmas in Wales is as bound up in the memories of Christmas as the tree, the tinsel, and the snow itself. Thomas' lovely poetry evokes the joy and merriment of childhood, the festivity of the holidays, and the delight of the unexpected.
Another beautiful evocation of Christmas is Truman Capote's seldom-heard "A Christmas Memory." Drawn from his own childhood in the South, it takes us to a time when simplicity was more meaningful than abundance. Seen from a child's eyes, one experiences how Christmas can and does touch the heart forever.

Join us and master storyteller Robb Dimmick for a very special holiday event and dramatic reading.
