Toddler Music Therapy (Approx. Ages 18-36 Months and Caregiver)

Geared towards children who are walking and love to move along
accompanied by parent or caregiver. Consisting of age and developmentally
appropriate music experiences which may include singing, song/storybooks, rhythmic
experiences, creative movement, and instrument playing. Music experiences parallel and support developmental milestones that children are in the process of receiving. This
program is all inclusive and meets the needs of special needs children as well.
Hosted by Connecticut Music Therapy Services. 30 minutes.

This is the fourth session in a 4 part workshop series presented by the Small Business Development Center and Southern Connecticut State University designed to help individuals who want to start or grow their small business. A certificate of completion will be awarded to those who attend all four workshops.
What do you need to ensure the success of your business? This overview touches on the topics of marketing and sales, budgeting, costing, pricing, financial statements, and more.
Refreshments provided by the Friends of the Library. Registration is required for each session.

Chess Club for Kids (Grades K-12)

Feel free to join our chess club that meets every Saturday from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM in the Children’s Craft/Story Room. Jeff Lawrence a nationally and internationally ranked chess player with over 30 years tournament experience will teach chess basics and strategies to club participants. Parents of children under 10 must remain in the Children’s Room during the program. There will be chess tournaments for chess club participants once or twice a year. Regular Chess Club is sponsored by our Friends Group
If you think that you are a more serious player and want to be involved on a competitive level, join our Chess Team. There is a $25.00 membership fee for Chess Team to cover materials and supplies. Membership in Chess Team allows participants to compete in meets against other libraries and learn more advanced techniques.

Join our host Jean Mai as she leads Science Snoopers! Science Snoopers is a program designed to introduce children to the natural world around them. Specifically designed for ages 3-6, the session consists of a story, hands on materials, experiments and an art or craft project. Perfect for growing minds!
