Adults, come to these sessions and learn the basics of yoga. Bring a yoga mat and a water bottle. Wear appropriate workout wear (comfortable but not restricting). Class is limited to 25 people.

Attendance is first come, first served for yoga classes.  When the limit of 25 people is reached, the door will be closed and a sign will be posted indicating that the class is full.

Robert Joseph Belletzkie will give a narrated video presentation focusing on the four railroad stations that once dotted the town map and their evolution over the years. Images and information will be drawn from research visits to the National Archives, Harvard’s Baker Library, the Connecticut State Library, the Dodd Center at UConn, and numerous other repositories and collections.

Mr. Belletzkie has been doing research for over 40 years and has given a number of presentations to illustrate the railroad infrastructure that once existed in the state and how the Iron Horse brought change to every community therein. He is a member of the Connecticut Historical Society, the New Haven Railroad Historical and Technical Association, and is actively involved with other local societies to which he belongs.

This program is co-sponsored by the Monroe Historical Society and the Edith Wheeler Memorial Library.

Registration for this program is required and begins October 7th.

Popular singer and songwriter of folk music, Willie plays guitar to Jan’s harmony! Willie is known for his extensive repertoire, spontaneous sense of humor, and flat-picking guitar technique. He wrote songs for the Captain Kangaroo Show and TV after School Specials.

    Have you always wanted to write a book, story, poem or memoir? Everyone has a story to tell. Join us on the third Tuesday each month from 6:30 to 7:30 pm for an opportunity to finally get those ideas out of your head and onto paper (or laptop.) We welcome all types of writers who aspire to publish and anyone else who would like to spend an hour in a safe, nurturing environment creating and sharing their work. Seniors are encouraged to document family traditions and personal anecdotes to pass on to loved ones.  No registration necessary.
