3rd - 6th Graders.  After we read a wonderful story about gardening, you will use a template to create your own seed packet and then create a custom label for either vegetables or flowers.  Once the label is attached, your packet will be filled with seeds.  You can either plant your seeds at home or give your unique seed packet as a gift!  Smocks are recommended.

*Registration is required and will begin at 10:00 am on June 17 during our Summer Reading Kickoff.  Please register one child per form.  If you would like to register more than one child, you will need to fill out a form for each.*

Grades K - 6.  Join us for a Hoopin' Good Time!  BringtheHoopla puts the FUN back into fitness! In this 45-minute high-energy hoop class, we will get you into the spin of your hoop and teach beginner on and off body tricks and techniques. We will also practice a variety of hoop games that build stamina and focus. This class is perfect for all kids!  Hoops are provided.  No hoop experience necessary.

Ages 8 - 10.  There once was a speedy hare that bragged about how fast he could run.  Tired of hearing him boast, the slow and steady tortoise challenged him to a race.  The squirrels, rabbits, elephants, and monkeys came out to cheer them on.  Come to the library and act out this fun tale and find out how slow and steady wins the race!  The program will end with a craft that ties to the theme of the story.

Ages 3+:  Don't you just love sleepovers?  Well, your stuffed friends want to party, too!  The library will be hosting a stuffed animal sleepover - come hear some stories, make a small craft, and leave your friend overnight to have some fun with other stuffed animals in town!  Come by in the morning to get your friend and see what they were up to all night!

*Please note:  The library will close 8pm on Tuesday and WILL NOT REOPEN until 10:00am on Wednesday.  During this time, the animals will be safely secured but staff will not be in the building and we will not be able to access the animals early even if they are homesick!*

Ages 5 - 13. Think you're the best Lego builder of all time?  Prove it by entering the Lego Design Contest!   Your pre-made Lego piece will be judged for a chance to win prizes!

Official Rules:

-Age groups will be as follows:  Ages 5 - 7, 8 - 10, 11 - 13. 

-Three winners (1st, 2nd, 3rd place) will be chosen from each age category.

-Your piece must be original - no kits allowed!  You may use pieces from a kit.

-You must be able to carry your design in and out of the building without librarian assistance.

-Theme:  "On Your Mark, Get Set...Read!"

-And most importantly:  have fun, and get creative!

STEM fans entering grades 6-10, do a little bit of everything in this engaging circuit building workshop.  First, build a circuit board that lights up when you connect the correct upper and lower points.  Then make a four to five question quiz on your favorite topic and put questions and answers on your board to correspond with the circuits you created.  Decorate your board to match the topic.

In this 45-minute high-energy hoop class, we will get you into the spin of your hoop and teach beginner on and off body tricks and techniques. We will also practice a variety of hoop games that build stamina and focus. This class is perfect for all kids!  Hoops are provided.  No hoop experience necessary.

All Ages.  You bring a picnic dinner and the library will provide dessert!  Join us on the back lawn of the library for some fabulous End of Summer Reading entertainment!  The picnic begins at 6:00 pm and Magic by Scott Jameson will commence at 6:30 pm.   Join magician and juggler Scott Jameson for an extraordinary performance that will have you laughing out loud and perched on the very edge of your seat.

In case of inclement weather, the picnic will be cancelled and the performance will be moved indoors to the Ehlers Room.  If this occurs, free tickets will be available 15 minutes before the program and attendance will be limited to 150 people.

Kids in grades 6-12, come learn how to play the hottest party game for teens - One Night Ultimate Werewolf!

  • Each player gets a unique role: A Werewolf, Seer, Troublemaker, or another, all with special abilities.
  • After a secret night phase that includes changing roles, players have just 5 minutes to find a Werewolf!
