I KNOW A SECRET has our favorite crime fighting duo Detective Jane Rizzoli and medical examiner Maura Isles investigating the gruesome staged murder of a horror film producer in this edge-of-your-seat thriller. In a house decorated with horror movie posters, a young woman’s body is found. She lies on her bed, her eyes removed and placed in the palm of her hand, a gesture that echoes the terrifying films she produces. Is a crazed movie fan reenacting scenes from those disturbing films? When another victim is found, again with no apparent cause of death and a grotesquely staged crime scene, Jane and Maura realize the killer has widened his circle of targets. He’s chosen one particular woman for his next victim, and she knows he’s coming for her next. She’s the only one who can help Jane and Maura catch the killer. But she knows a secret. And it’s a secret she’ll never tell.

I KNOW A SECRET is the 12th book in RIZZOLI & ISLES’ best selling suspense and thriller novel series and will finally reveal what happens between Maura and Daniel Brophy – and which man Angela chooses.

Internationally bestselling author Tess Gerritsen took an unusual route to a writing career. A graduate of Stanford University, Tess went on to medical school at the University of California, San Francisco, where she was awarded her M.D. While on maternity leave from her work as a physician, she began to write fiction. Tess’s first medical thriller, Harvest, was released in hardcover in 1996, and it marked her debut on the New York Times bestseller list. Her suspense novels since then have been: Life Support (1997), Bloodstream (1998), Gravity (1999), The Surgeon (2001), The Apprentice (2002), The Sinner (2003), Body Double (2004), Vanish (2005), The Mephisto Club (2006), The Bone Garden (2007), The Keepsake (2008; UK title: Keeping the Dead), Ice Cold (2010; UK title: The Killing Place), The Silent Girl (2011), Last To Die (August 2012), Die Again (January 2015) and Playing With Fire (coming October 27, 2015). Her books have been published in forty countries, and more than 30 million copies have been sold around the world. Her series of novels featuring homicide detective Jane Rizzoli and medical examiner Maura Isles inspired the TNT television series “Rizzoli & Isles” starring Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander. Now retired from medicine, she writes full time. She lives in Maine.

“Tess Gerritsen’s clever plotting and medical knowledge give her thrillers that extra edge. Expect a white-knuckle ride to very dark places.”
—Paula Hawkins, #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Girl on the Train

“Suspense doesn’t get smarter than this.” – New York Times bestselling author Lee Child

“Gerritsen has a knack for creating great characters and mysterious plots that seem straightforward but also dazzle with complexity and twists.” – The Associated Press

“One of the most versatile voices in thriller fiction today.” – The Providence Journal

Been a housewife? A domestic worker? Single parent? Lived in a creepy old house? You think your life's been boring--but exciting plots are buried in your own expertise. Find the clues to the novel only you can write with sisters in crime, Frances McNamara and Barbara Struna

Signed books will be available for purchase from the authors.

Registration encouraged.

Frances McNamara: Frances grew up in Boston where her father was Police Commissioner in the 1960s. As a librarian she worked at Wellesley College, then, NELINET, OCLC and finally University of Chicago Library.  After writing scenarios for an amateur mystery night group in Granville OH, Frances turned to mystery novels. She has published six titles in the Emily Cabot Mysteries, featuring a fictional heroine, along with real-life historical figures, with Allium Press of Chicago, the first being DEATH AT THE FAIR, and the most recent, DEATH AT THE PARIS EXPOSITION. The mysteries are set in the 1890's and the series will extend into the 1900's. Frances is currently working on a second contemporary mystery series to be set in Boston, where she now lives.

Barbara Struna: A storyteller at heart, Struna bases her tales on the history, myth, and legends of Cape Cod and her own personal experiences.  She created a contemporary character, amateur sleuth, Nancy Caldwell, the vehicle that moves the story between time periods in alternating chapters. Struna’s first two successful novels, The Old Cape House and The Old Cape Teapot, were pirate adventures based on the 1717 Cape legend of Maria Hallett and her pirate lover Sam Bellamy, captain of the wrecked ship Whydah. Her research took her on a ten year journey trying to decipher the facts from the legend and then another three years of crafting her story. Struna’s imagination took flight once more when she discovered a turquoise 1940 Fiesta-ware cup buried in her Cape woods, it ignited an idea for a story about the forties on Cape Cod and ‘Old Hollywood’ and her third novel, The Old Cape Hollywood Secret, was born. With more than 1000 reviews and hundreds of followers, Struna keeps her readership anticipating the next Old Cape story, this time featuring Alaska and Provincetown in the late 1800’s coming in 2019. Struna is a member of International Thriller Writers, Panelist Thrillerfest 2016; Member in Letters, National League of American Pen Women; President of Cape Cod Writers Center; Sisters In Crime, National, New England, LA. and writes a blog about the unique facts and myths of Cape Cod.

Gary Braver is the bestselling author of eight critically acclaimed mysteries and thrillers—the first three under his own name, Gary Goshgarian, the subsequent and future works under the pen name, Gary Braver. The Braver books include: ELIXIR, GRAY MATTER, SKIN DEEP, and FLASHBACK, which is the only mystery/thriller to have won a prestigious Massachusetts Book Award (2006) and which in a starred review Publishers Weekly called “an exceptional medical thriller.” Gary Braver’s eighth novel, TUNNEL VISION, centers on near-death experience an the attempts by scientists to prove that the afterlife exists. "A wonderfully frightening and insightful tale" says Ray Bradbury of TUNNEL VISION. Under his own name, Gary Goshgarian is an award-winning professor of English at Northeastern University where he teaches courses in Modern Bestsellers, Detective Fiction, Science Fiction, Horror Fiction, and Fiction Writing.

Book purchases and signings will follow the event. Registration is encouraged.

About the book:

"Lissie Woodham and her sister Janey were playing with their porcelain dolls in the front yard when a puppy scampered by. Lissie chased after the pup and returned to find Janey-- and her precious doll gone. Forty years later Lis-- now a mother with a college-age daughter of her own-- still blames herself for what happened. Every year their mother places a classified ad in the local paper with a picture of the toy Janey had with her that day, offering a generous cash reward for its return. This year, the doll came home. But someone knows the truth about what happened all those years ago, and is desperate to keep it hidden." - Publisher
