"There are big changes brewing in Gotham, but if Batman (Will Arnett) wants to save the city from the Joker's (Zach Galifianakis) hostile takeover, he may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up. Maybe his superhero sidekick Robin (Michael Cera) and loyal butler Alfred (Ralph Fiennes) can show him a thing or two."

All are warmly encouraged to come for an open, non-judgmental conversation with Jewish and Christians over a cup of coffee and goodies.

This month, Cantor Shoshana from Temple Beth El will lead a conversation digging into what it means to be human.  Her controversial and fun title is “Made in the Image of God” – What if it’s not True?

Please come and participate! We all need each other and so we want to hear your voice and perspective too!

Adult Coloring

Join the adult coloring craze! Our coloring group meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. Coloring is a low-tech, fun, and creative way to beat stress and promote relaxation. Coloring books for adults typically have more complex designs than those for children and can include nature scenes, mandalas, animals, geometrics, and abstract designs. We supply coloring pages, colored pencils, and markers. All ages are welcome! Meet us in the Fell Reading Room on the main floor of the library. If you like puzzles, a puzzle table is also available!

Become a Special Education Surrogate Parent

Are you interested in supporting students in your community?  You can help by volunteering to become a Special Education Surrogate Parent (SESP) for a student in state care that requires special education supports and whose parents are unknown or unavailable. These children depend on SESPs to protect their legal right to a free and appropriate education.

SESPs serve as appointed decision makers that have the legal authority of a parent or legal guardian to attend and participate in special education team meetings, approve or reject Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and if necessary, file complains or appeals. On average, the time commitment is only 30-40 hours a year.

RTSC hosts FREE Orientation Trainings throughout Massachusetts where you will learn about the role of an SESP, how traumatic experiences can impact learning and how to incorporate the appropriate supports into the IEP. For more information or to register, visit our website at www.fcsn.org/rtsc/ or call 617-399-8342.

Registration is required.
