From October 2009 to June 2010, every third Wednesday of the month, the children in the program will be read a book by a guest reader. After the book reading there will be a fun activity that will follow. This program promotes reading to young children in the local Fall River community. The children will learn about financial literacy, including saving and budgeting. This program will allow children to improve their reading skills during the school year as well as teach them the value of saving their money in a bank account. At the kick off, each child will receive crayons, coloring books, stickers, bubbles and pencils. Every participant reader who completes the program will have $5 deposited into their Nickels account (one must be opened to have the $5 deposited).
