Tai Chi For People With Arthritis

Join Elaine Fleischman, specially trained by the Arthritis Foundation, for an eight week Tai Chi program. Tai Chi is a set of movements developed thousands of years ago in China. Modern Americans have learned that Tai Chi is an excellent exercise to help improve balance, stamina, coordination and well being. The movements may be performed standing or seated. Tai Chi for Arthritis is specially adapted for those that have arthritis, for seniors, or anyone who wants to begin practicing Tai Chi. Registration begins Monday, April 22.

Introduction to Cake Decorating Saturday, June 1
Learn how to crumb coat a cake ice a cake, shell border and rosettes. You will work with professional tools and real cakes. Each student goes home with a decorated cake.
Piping and placement Saturday, June 8
Learn how to pipe a rose and leaves. Learn placement and design and a different border. Each student goes home with a decorated cake.
Introduction to working with Fondant Saturday, June 15
Learn to apply and colour fondant. Each student goes home with a decorated cake.
Registration begins Monday, May 20. There is a $13 materials fee which must be paid in cash upon registration. You must register for and take all three classes.

Tickets are now needed to attend the Sunday programs. Our highly professional Sunday programs are best enjoyed by our adult patrons. The parking lot door on the side of the building will be open to facilitate seating (the main doors of the library are not open on Sundays). Please come on time. The Sunday programs start promptly at 2:00 pm. You will now need a ticket to attend the programs. District 17 Residents can pick up tickets for the Sunday program starting the Monday two weeks before. If any tickets remain, they will be available to non-District 17 residents at the door the afternoon of the performance.
Join Baritone Richard Cassell and Mezzo-soprano Frances Devine for a delightful hour of staged arias and duets from such works as Carmen, Tosca, The Barber of Seville, don Giovanni, Gianni Schicchi, La Boheme and Showboat, South Pacific, Carousel, Fiddler on the Roof, and Phantom of the Opera.
