Take a practice exam of the newly designed SAT.  CurveBreakers test prep will simulate the exam which has not been given before.  Sophomore and Juniors are encouraged to take the practice exam before sitting for the real SAT.  Time will be allotted for students to have a snack mid-way through the exam.  the Friends of the Garden City Public Library will provide the snacks and bottled water.  Register online beginning February 6, 2016.  Limit 30 students

Michael Binder of Your College Navigator LLC, "Admission by design, not chance" will return to the Garden City Public Library to once again address parents and students in grades 9-11 on how to find the college which is a perfect fit for the individual.  Having done this counseling for many years, Mr. Binder is savy to the tricks to use in the application and school visit process.  This lecture is open to students and their parents.  Registration begins February 8, 2016 through the library's website.

To start off Teen Tech Week, March 6-12, 2016, the Young Adult Department will host a Robots - 2.0 workshop.

Science teacher Chris Buchman will be at the Garden City Public Library to instruct YAs on how to construct working robots.

Those enrolled in October will be given the first spaces in the class.  Registration will begin on February 13, 2016.  Limited to 25 YAs.

Nick LaPoma, founder and lead tutor of CurveBreakers Test Prep will return to the Garden City Library to give back the students practice test results and to explain the significance of the scores.  He will talk about how the scores might be improved.

Open to students who took the practice exam on February 27 and their parents.
