Maria, certified instructor in Zumba. Pilates and Yoga will incorporate the principles of all three in a class for 'Tweens and Teens. Yoga and Pilates will comprise the warm up and cool down portions of the workshop and Zumba will be the cardio. Participants will learn the differences and how all three in combination have life long benefits for a healthy life. Water, mats, sneakers required.

Joanne Insinga will be back at the Garden City Library to teach the basics of Calligraphy. Each participant will learn how to make strokes. Everyone will be given a pen supply to take home and continue to practice and use the skills leaned. Class size is limited to 15. egstaton begins June 17, 2013

In celebration of National Ice Cream Month, July Young Adults will be joining the Baking Coach for a Ice Cream Sundae and Root Beer Float party. The best part of these treats is finding and enjoying what is underneath the visible layer! Participants will create their own ice cream sundae using a variety of great toppings and enjoy a root beer float as well. The Baking coach will demonstrate how to make ice cream during the presentation.

The Cradle Of Aviation Museum will bring an astronaut's gear to the library and conduct an interactive program for YAs. Discussions will take place on how a human from earth survives in anti-gravity - how do they eat, sleep, wash, use the bathroom? Some members of the audience will be able to put the gear on and feel what it is like to be in a space suit. Registration begins on July 8. Limited to 35 participants

How do those scientists on CSI trace the person responsible person? Through their DNA, of course. Learn how to identify a "suspect" DNA by experimenting with strawberries. Chris, a Science teacher in Port Washington, will be setting up a DNA lab at the Garden city Public Library and teach participants how to trace the DNA of strawberries. He has promised to have surplus strawberries for tasting as well.
