Teens will have a month to practice before St. Pat’s Day. Don’t care for raisins or caraway seeds? Who says you can’t substitute chocolate chips? The Baking Coach says you can. Each participant will go home with a box made of chocolate, decorated and wrapped in Easter grass and pastel bows. Registration begins March 13 @ 9:00 AM. At these storytimes young adults read, sing, and do finger plays and a simple craft with groups of children between the ages of 2 and 8. To insure the quality of the storytimes and the comfort of the storytellers, volunteers are required to attend two training sessions prior to the first summer they participate. Anyone entering grades 6-12 in September 2008 is invited to join. If this is the first summer eligible or available, please consider volunteering. Registration begins March 15 for all sessions. 2:00 PM  -  4:15 PM Yak & Snack       Book discussion of Finding Buck McHenry, by Alfred Slote. Could Mr. Henry, the custodian at Jason’s school, possibly have some connection with former baseball great Buck McHenry? Jason pressures an admission from Mr. Henry and talks him into coaching a newly formed team. This comic, suspenseful baseball story is both a book and a film. Join Mrs. Alford and other YAs to view the movie and discuss how the book and the movie differ and are the same. Refreshments - peanuts, popcorn, Cracker Jacks, and cupcakes - will be served. Saturday April 24, 2010 Go To Top 3:00 PM Reverse Glass Painting       Christine Rissanen will return to the Library to instruct YAs in the art of reverse-glass painting. Paint is applied to glass and then viewed from the back side. This craft is a perfect done-in-advance gift for Mom for that big day in May. Registration begins April 10 @ 9:00 AM.
