		A Master Gardener from Cornell University Cooperative Extension will be conducting this gardening program. They will give you all the information you need to show off your lawn to your neighbors. Proper mowing, watering and fertilization, disease, insect and weed control, thatch and core aeration are just some of the topics discussed. The leaching potential of fertilizers and pesticides into Long Island ground water is high and will be an important focus. We will explain pesticides and who is allowed to use them as well as lawn care without pesticides. This is also a chance for the local landscaper and the homeowner to develop an educated communication with each other.

		In celebration of National Ice Cream Month, July Young Adults will be joining the Baking Coach for a Ice Cream Sundae and Root Beer Float party. The best part of these treats is finding and enjoying what is underneath the visible layer! Participants will create their own ice cream sundae using a variety of great toppings and enjoy a root beer float as well. The Baking coach will demonstrate how to make ice cream during the presentation.

		The Cradle Of Aviation Museum will bring an astronaut's gear to the library and conduct an interactive program for YAs. Discussions will take place on how a human from earth survives in anti-gravity - how do they eat, sleep, wash, use the bathroom? Some members of the audience will be able to put the gear on and feel what it is like to be in a space suit. Registration begins on July 8. Limited to 35 participants

		How do those scientists on CSI trace the person responsible person? Through their DNA, of course. Learn how to identify a "suspect" DNA by experimenting with strawberries. Chris, a Science teacher in Port Washington, will be setting up a DNA lab at the Garden city Public Library and teach participants how to trace the DNA of strawberries. He has promised to have surplus strawberries for tasting as well.
