  • Books will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Sign ups begin at 1 p.m.
  • Books can be “borrowed” for 15 minutes and reserve the right to be returned at any time.
  • The Library will ONLY be open for this special event from 1-3 p.m.; no regular services will be available.

The Human Library is a living, breathing library where humans are the books and the stories are their lives. “Human Books” available to check out may include people who have experienced adversity due to race, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion/belief, culture, profession, and/or lifestyle. 2015 "Human Books" include: a former homeless veteran, a body artist/psychic medium, a Croatian immigrant, a survivor of child abuse, an individual in substance abuse recovery, a female rabbi, and more.

During National Library Week we will grant amnesty for overdue library materials returned that week: no fines will be collected, we just want our stuff back.

It’s important to return long-overdue items to the circulation desk for correct action to be taken and all monies to be removed from your account(s); please do not leave in book drops.

The secret stitch will be revealed as you work up a mystery block. This is a fun way to try a new project - each month we’ll have a pattern for you to create a new knit or crochet square, along with some ideas on how to complete a project made of these blocks.

What you need:

  • A ball of yarn and the corresponding size needles or hook that’s called for on the yarn label.
  • An adventurous spirit!
  • Knowledge of basic knit & crochet is required.

Molly the Reading Therapy DogA 5-Week Reading Program

We are excited to welcome back “Molly” a certified reading therapy dog for our six-week program which is designed to encourage readers at all levels to practice their skills in a judgment-free environment.
 
Children will have the opportunity to schedule 15 minutes of one-on-one reading with Molly on a regular basis at the Library. Reading times will be at 6:00, 6:15, 6:30, 6:45, 7:00 or 7:15 p.m. Wednesday evenings.

The secret stitch will be revealed as you work up a mystery block. This is a fun way to try a new project - each month we’ll have a pattern for you to create a new knit or crochet square, along with some ideas on how to complete a project made of these blocks.

  • An adventurous spirit!
  • Knowledge of basic knit & crochet is required.
