Check out the Books in Bloom show in the library this week and join us for a reception to award prizes and recognize library volunteers. Flower and/or craft arrangements centering on books will be on display in the library from April 26 to May 3. Enter anytime during the week for your chance to win a beautiful hanging basket generously donated by Nessralla Farm. Winner will be drawn at the Books in Bloom reception. Raffle proceeds benefit the Friends of the Holmes Public Library.

Find out where to get expert recommendations and see demos of the best reading- and book-related apps for smartphones or tablets in a workshop for parents and caregivers of children ages 2-8. App demos will include Overdrive - the freeapp for adult and children's ebooks available from your public library -and TumbleBooks - a source for children's animated ebooks and short informative videos available with your Holmes Public Library card.
Bring your library card and your own device for hands-on help trying out Overdrive app or to check out other recommended literacy-related apps for children and parents of children ages 2-8. Presented by Marie Coady, Children's Librarian, Amy Tull, Technology Coordinator, and Laurie Cavanaugh, Director, Holmes Public Library.
This is a repeat of a program offered in January, but this time we're offering apps (appetizers) with the apps!
