Stop in at the library for a cup of coffee or tea and a bite to eat as Troy Garron gives an informal talk about arrowheads and interesting rock specimens he has found around the local area over the years. Items from his collection are on display at the library throughout the month of July. Suitable for adults and families.

Do you like to look at artwork? Do you enjoy reading descriptive writing? Ever thought about writing something? If you answered yes to any one of these questions, this interesting and fun art & poetry workshop is for you. Presented by local poet and instructor Bill Alberti.

  • Learn about the creative genre of Ekphrastic writing
  • View and discuss works of art
  • Read a few poems about art by well known poets
  • Following instruction, have the opportunity to try your hand at writing short prose or poetry about a work of art
  • Optional: share your piece in a supportive, encouraging environment
  • NO expertise in art or writing required

 

This project is supported by a grant from the Halifax Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
