Glenn Davison of Kites in the Classroom will present "Physics of Flight" with a display of kites including examples of the many different styles of kites that are flown worldwide. This program is for students in grades 3-6, and is limited to 30 participants.

Learn about the physics of flight, and build a kite to take home.

30-Minute nursery rhyme program for children from birth to age 3. Puppets, songs, fingerplays and musical instruments make for a stimulating time for baby's emergent literacy.

Chocolate Olympics!  Attention teens in the Get in the Game, READ Summer Reading program join us for an afternoon of chocolate fun! Relay races, chocolate pictionary, guessing games, stack & sort, and more!  Bring your appetites and your friends! Registration required. Please note for allergies, the chocolate used may contain tree nuts, peanuts, milk, soy and/or have been manufactured in a facility with nuts.

Airplanes - Aerodynamics

Science is Everywhere STEM Grant Program for grades 3 - 6

Since the beginning of time, man has looked to the sky and dreamed of flying. In this unit, students will build their own model airplane. They will assemble wings and fins and stabilizers. Crafting their own rubber band powered plane, they will experiment with the effects of ailerons, elevators, and rudders on the movement of the plane through the air

Summer Reading Finale and Ice Cream Social!

Finish up your summer reading entries before Wednesday, August 3 to be eligible, but you don't need to be present to win!

All prizes will be awared for the three Summer Reading Programs  "On Your Mark, Get Set, Read!" Children's, "Get in the Game, READ!" Teen and "Exercise Your Mind, READ!" Adult.  Ice Cream will be available for particpants of the 2016 Summer Reading Programs. Congratulations to all of our readers! Thank you to our sponsors and volunteers who helped make these programs possible.

The Friends of the Hazen Memorial Library are a non-profit group that promotes the town library and raises funds for library items and public programs that would otherwise be outside the limited library budget.

Tonight we will be discussing the fall events and the membership drive.
