Search Techniques for Ancestry.com

KAPLAN AUDITORIUM- This class features a lecture in the Kaplan auditorium followed by a hand-on session using computers in the boardroom. An overview of the databases on Ancestry.com will be discussed. Then the class will learn search techniques need for that elusive relative who lived in America in 1930 or before. Before the class is over, the participants will practice the research techniques. Ancestry.com is a fee-based site that has free access in the library.
Handy information for the individual to be researched would include anything on the person’s birth, marriage, death; the names of the parents, siblings, aunts and uncles; the grandparents; where the family lived; and, family stories.
