Each year thousands of craft hobbyists attempt to build businesses incorporating their craft skills. Making money doing what you love can, at first, seem to be a dream come true. However, those who continue to think about business ownership as “just a hobby” will not be in business long. This seminar is designed for novice and experienced craft marketers. It presents a realistic view of the contemporary craft scene where people earn from a few hundred dollars to six-figures annually. Topics will include the steps of setting up a business, sales tax authorization certification, insurance, distribution channels, pricing, overhead, retailing, wholesaling, consignment and rented space. The program will be held in the Community Room. Registration is required for this free program.
