Eat Smart New York is a NYS Nutrition Education and Obesity Prevention Program. Food can be delicious and physical activity can be fun! SNAP-Ed EDNY provides opportunities for adults and children to learn how to make healthy eating choices and regular physical activity part of their lifestyles. This program is open to parents AND children!

The AARP DEFENSIVE DRIVING COURSE  will be offered in one session, Friday, May 20, 2016, from 10:00AM – 4:30PM.  Successful completion of this class will remove up to 4 points from your driving record, entitles you to an insurance discount, and make you a better driver.  Registration must be done in person.  There is a fee of $20.00 per person for AARP Members and $25.00 per person for non-AARP Members at the time of registration, checks or money orders payable to AARP.  If you are an AARP Member, you must present your AARP Membership Card at the time of registration.  Hempstead Village residents may register starting on Monday, May 9th.  Non-residents may register beginning Monday, May 16th.  PLEASE CALL AHEAD TO VERIFY THAT SPACE IS AVAILABLE!  Class size is limited.  Bring lunch or a snack.  The class will meet in the Community Room.  For more information, please call the Library at 481 – 6990.
