This introductory business planning course is presented by a representative of the Community Development Corporation. It is open to current and prospective small business owners. During the session, participants will gain an understanding of what it takes to start a business, learn what they need to know about business planning, assess their skills, and consider the legal and tax issues needed to get started. Participants should understand that this is a one hour basic overview workshop and is not meant to be in-depth. The program will be held in the Community Room. Registration is required for this free program.

The AARP DEFENSIVE DRIVING COURSE will be offered in one session, Friday, June 14, 2013, from 10:00AM – 4:30PM. Successful completion of this class will remove up to 4 points from your driving record, entitles you to an insurance discount, and make you a better driver. Registration must be done in person. There is a fee of $17.00 per person for AARP Members and $19.00 per person for non-AARP Members at the time of registration, checks or money orders payable to AARP. If you are an AARP Member, you must present your AARP Membership Card at the time of registration. Hempstead Village residents may register starting on Monday, June 3rd. Non-residents may register beginning Monday, June 10th. Class size is limited, please call ahead to confirm availability of spots! Bring lunch or a snack. The class will meet in the Community Room.
