Examples include inactive bank accounts, unpaid wages or commissions, stocks, bonds and mutual funds, money orders and bill overpayments, paid-up life insurance policies, or safe deposit box contents. A representative from the Illinois State Treasurer’s Office will be available to check to see if you have cash or other assets available to be claimed, along with instructing you on how to claim it.
