The first story time will begin on Tuesday, January 24 meeting through February 28, 2017.

This independent program is for children ages 3, 4 and 5. Books, flannel stories, music, and rhymes are part of the Story Time line up. A simple art project rounds out the program. Please remember for your child’s safety that an adult caregiver is to remain in the library during Story Time.

Story Times are very popular and there are children on waiting lists. If your child misses two consecutive Story Times, the next person on our waiting list will be invited to attend in your child’s place.

Welcome to Special Needs Wiggles and Giggles for children up to 35 months with an adult on Tuesdays at 10:45 a.m.

The first Special Needs Wiggles and Giggles will begin on Tuesday, January 24 meeting through February 28, 2017. 

This program welcomes all children up to 35 months but is designed for children with special needs challenges. The sessions combine books, songs, movement and music activities to encourage reading readiness.

This workshop is great for beginners or anyone wishing to deepen their meditation practice. You're encouraged to bring a yoga mat; however, one will be provided for you to use during the class if needed. Meditation can also be done sitting in a chair. All levels welcome. The first Polish/English Story Time begins on Thursday, January 26 meeting through March 2, 2017.

This independent program is for children ages 3, 4 and 5. Books, flannel stories, music, and rhymes are part of the Story Time line up which is presented in Polish and English. A simple art project rounds out the program. Please remember for your child’s safety that an adult caregiver is to remain in the library during Story Time.

The library's monthly teen volunteer night is held on the first Thursday of each month from 6-8pm. Teens in grades 6-12 can sign up for these volunteer nights, where you’ll be helping us with basic tasks such as cutting items for storytime prep, straightening shelves, etc.

She will explain and demonstrate her techniques.  She encourages all to draw along. She will have kits on hand for $5 which include five 3 1/2” square tiles of printmaking paper,  a Sakura Pigma Micron pen, special pencil and tortillions to create softness. The library's monthly teen volunteer night is held on the first Thursday of each month from 6-8pm. Teens in grades 6-12 can sign up for these volunteer nights, where you’ll be helping us with basic tasks such as cutting items for storytime prep, straightening shelves, etc.

REGISTRATION REQUIRED. Space is limited to 6 teens per session. Registration opens on the 1st day of the month for that month's session.

Registration for the April session will open on Saturday, April 1st at 8:30am.

Laura Lein-Svencner is an Abstract Mixed Media Collage Artist.  Laura teaches collage with the heat seal iron method of fusing coated collage papers to many surfaces.  She has been nominated for a 2016 Arts Award in the category of Teaching Arts in Chicago. She will bring samples of her work, papers she uses, and will show how to create surface designs. Laura has taught many classes in Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin and is a member of Midwest Collage Society.  Presented by the Lemont Artists Guild.

Welcome to Polish/English Story Time!

The first Polish/English Story Time begins on Thursday, March 30 meeting through May 4, 2017.

This independent program is for children ages 3, 4 and 5. Books, flannel stories, music, and rhymes are part of the Story Time line up which is presented in Polish and English. A simple art project rounds out the program. Please remember for your child’s safety that an adult caregiver is to remain in the library during Story Time.
 
Story Times are very popular and there are children on waiting lists.  If your child misses two consecutive Story Times, the next person on our waiting list will be invited to attend in your child’s place.

The library's monthly teen volunteer night is held on the first Thursday of each month from 6-8pm. Teens in grades 6-12 can sign up for these volunteer nights, where you’ll be helping us with basic tasks such as cutting items for storytime prep, straightening shelves, etc.

Pizza is one of everyone’s favorite foods…but did you know that you can grow a pizza in a container? Join the Will County Master Gardeners for a fun, hands on pizza garden planting project. You will learn all about the ingredients that come from the garden and how they make it to your pizza. Each participant will make and take a container garden that has all the vegetables to make a homemade pizza. Recipes will also be provided.
