This independent program, which helps develop essential early literacy skills, is for children ages 3, 4 and 5. Books, flannel stories, music, and rhymes are part of the Story Time line up. A simple art project rounds out the program. Please remember for your child’s safety that an adult caregiver is to remain in the library during Story Time.

Story Times are very popular and there are children on waiting lists. If your child misses two consecutive Story Times, the next person on our waiting list will be invited to attend in your child’s place.

Did you know that learning to read begins at birth? Wiggles and Giggles is designed to encourage reading readiness and enhance the parent-child relationship through shared enjoyment of simple stories, finger-plays, bouncing rhymes, music and movement activities.

Diane Adduci, a community educator and licensed insurance representative, will present an educational program about Medicare Parts A and B and will also be discussing Medicare Supplement Plans. Come and learn about eligibility, enrollment, and the benefits of Medicare and Medicare Supplements. This program is designed for people turning 65, already 65 or over but leaving their employer plan, or people who would like to learn more about Medicare. Questions are welcome.

The Winter sessions of Family Story Time will begin on Monday, January 23 meeting through February 27, 2017. There will be no Family Story Time on Monday, February 20 as the library will be closed for President's Day. The Spring sessions of Family Story Time will begin on March 27 through May 1, 2017

Parents and caregivers play a critical role as a child's first teacher. Families are invited to share thematic tales, rhymes and songs which establish a groundwork for literacy. A simple craft may be worked on together.

Marti Anne's vinyasa flow yoga class begins with a series of Sun Salutations to bring in movement and breath. The practice builds on the foundations of yoga and incorporates a more invigorating approach. Practitioners will have the opportunity to choose the level with which they engage the practice while being guided to expand their potential and increase mind-body harmony. Some prior yoga experience needed. Please note that this program will take place at 9am before the library openat 10am. Let’s Grow a Pizza! 

Pizza is one of everyone’s favorite foods…but did you know that you can grow a pizza in a container? Join the Will County Master Gardeners for a fun, hands on pizza garden planting project. You will learn all about the ingredients that come from the garden and how they make it to your pizza. Each participant will make and take a container garden that has all the vegetables to make a homemade pizza. Recipes will also be provided.
