This free introductory 8 week session will give an overview of the parts and functions of a computer, programs like Microsoft Word and Excel, and also the Internet.This class is meant to be an introduction to computers for those who have very little or no experience and would like to have a good starting place.Students will also set up an email account and learn about some of the valuable resources available on the Internet. They will also become familar with the library's online catalogue and other databases.
There are two sessions to choose from, either 10:30-11:30 or 11:30-12:30. Choose the time which is the most convenient for you!

4th Annual Wine Tasting and Auction!

The Carnegie Library of Homestead will be holding its 4th Annual Wine Tasting and Auction on Sunday, August 8, 2010 between 7:30 pm and 10:00 pm. For information concerning tickets please call 412-462-0556 or send an email to chfoloh@hotmail.com.
A collection of global wines and hors d’oeuvres complimenting each region will be featured. The program includes special raffle items (a two night stay at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort, more to come) and a silent auction.
September 30th is the deadline for presale of tickets. The proceeds benefit the Carnegie Library of Homestead.
