Volunteer! Join the Teen Think Tank, the Library's fun and inventive teen advisory board.
The TTT is for ages 11-18, grades 6 to 12. We meet on the first Thursday of the month at 6:30 PM for 90 minutes.
The TTT works to improve collections (books, movies, music, audiobooks, etc.) and to create programs and services designed for teens in this community.
Attendance at meetings and TTT events and projects is approved for high school community service hours.
Come share your bright ideas!...and don't worry about dinner; we have pizza delivered.

The time commitment to be a member of Teen Think Tank is mainly to constructively participate for 90 minutes a month on the first Thursday of the month at the TTT meeting. Regular monthly attendance is expected as a membership requirement, as attendance is important for continuity and progress in accomplishing things. Occasionally there will be something outside of the monthly 90 minute meeting time that will require your participation.

To join the TTT, please stop by the Library and talk with Kim Claire, Young Adult Librarian, or call 978-468-5577 x14.

Contact: Kim Claire, Young Adult Librarian   978-468-5577 x14   kclaire@hwlibrary.org

Please join us as we celebrate poetry and short fiction at the Hamilton-Wenham Library's 8th Teen Poetry and Flash Fiction Contest Reception.

This year's reception guest will be independent literary historian and playwright Rob Velella. Mr. Velella specializes in American Literature of the 19th century and in dramatically bringing to life literary figures Nathaniel Hawthorne and Edgar Allan Poe, for which he has been featured on National Public Radio and the LA Review of Books. For the reception Mr. Velella will appear as Nathaniel Hawthorne. Remembered today for his novels like "The Scarlet Letter" and "The House of the Seven Gables," Massachusetts author Nathaniel Hawthorne never offered a public reading in his lifetime and, in fact, often scorned the fame which he earned. For this presentation, however, the author himself (portrayed by Rob Velella) will return to read some of his short works which explore the dark side of human nature. A question and answer session will follow the performance.

Following Nathaniel Hawthorne, the winners of the Teen Poetry and Flash Fiction Contest will be announced, prizes awarded, and winning entries heard.

Slenderman. The Rake. The Seedeater. Ted the Caver. The internet has become the new forum for our fear.  In this presentation we'll look at some of the more famous creepypastas, the psychoogy behind why they scare us and look at the more popular forms of their stories on the web. Presented by Sarah Hodge-Wetherbe, geek culture aficionado. Funded by the Friends, free and open to the public.
