You've heard the saying, "You are what you eat." Well, it's also true that you are what you're NOT eating. If you're not eating the right kinds of food, you could be losing out on brain power, fighting stress with one hand tied behind your back, and writing a break-up letter to the best years of your life. We can't have that! Kate Sheets, Nutritional Health Coach with Natural Grocers, helps us explore all the amazing--and often delicious--ways we can improve and kick-start ourselves into being the champ we all know lurks within. Nutrition, New You is a monthly series, so check in to see what's coming up.  Today's subject: Make Your Next Plate Great

misc_none 1:00 PM  -  2:30 PM Nourishment for Body, Mind and Spirit: Self care tips for your whole being Remind Me about this Event Download Event Info Tell a Friend

Nourishment goes beyond “feeding” ourselves. Choosing what to consume into our bodies, minds, and hearts—as well as what we choose not to let in—often makes the difference between health and disease. Nourishment is not just about eating healthy foods; it’s also about choosing our thoughts, processing our feelings, and eliminating toxic substances, people, and situations. Create a vital life for yourself!

Topics for discussion:

  • Eating consciously
  • Assessing the health of our relationships; do they nourish or drain you?
  • Listening for how you talk to yourself
  • Consider yourself as sacred ground; how do you treat your “temple”?

Dr. Kelley Eden brings her deep compassion and vast expertise in mind/body medicine. She discusses how to navigate and recover from stress, as well as how to build resilience in all aspects of your being so you can more quickly recover from life's difficult events. Leave with self-care tools, and new ideas for staying whole and healthy in your life.

In part 2, we will come back together as a group and critique our work from the first session with a formal critique session. There is no charge for these two classes. If you want to attend both the instructional/shooting session and the critique session, you must sign up for both. Is there any special equipment required? No, though a tripod is highly recommended. It will also be helpful if you know how to operate your camera in manual mode. If your phone is the only camera you have, we'll make that work as well!
