Learn to use tables to extract data by using built-in filters and formatting options.  Learn how to quickly add calculated columns, apply built-in functions (such as Max, Min, and Sum) to columns, name ranges of data and print specific tables.  Learn to use Advanced Filter to create more complex filters and ways to filter data to another location for clearer presentation of results. 

PrerequisiteMastery of basic features of Microsoft Excel, including cutting and pasting, using basic formulas, and moderate keyboarding skills.

Teens - if you're between the ages of 12-18 and live in Jefferson County, you're invited to submit images of your artwork for this public exhibition. There's no theme and all mediums are accepted, including, but not limited to: photography, paintings, drawings, 3D Objects and structure, ceramics, digital art.) Artwork does not need to be mounted. If you have questions, contact Librarian Lisa via email, lisa.dibbern@jeffcolibrary.org, or drop off at the Belmar Library (map) by July 23.

Artists can submit up to 5 pieces of artwork. Each piece of art must include the following information:

  • Artist’s Name, Age & Grade, School

The Spark City Bus is a traveling children's museum built inside a 40-foot bus with an interactive farm-to-table theme. Children can pick fruits and vegetables at the farm, sell them to the market, and prepare and serve meals in the kitchen and cafe. This act of role-playing will teach young children valuable social and emotional skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, gross and fine motor skills, science, math and art skills, and most importantly-- instill a lifelong love of learning through play. For legal parties who have no attorney, a free legal self-help clinic is held the first Thursday of each month at the Belmar Library in Lakewood. A volunteer lawyer is available via video link to answer questions, help complete forms and explain the process and procedure for all areas of civil litigation, including family law, property law, probate law, landlord-tenant law and much more. No advance reservations are required. Patrons are helped on a first-come, first served basis.

Be a part of creating stellar library events for Belmar Teens! Belmar's Teen Advisory Board meets monthly to help plan events, suggest library materials and services, and of course talk books. Past Belmar TAB events include: Prom Swap, the Banned Book Fashion Show and our MonthlyTeen Book Club. Do you like to write? If so, it’s time to pull out your Number 2 pencil (or pen) and join our Writing Group for Kids. We'll work with a variety of prompts in a group setting so you can write, share what you write, decorate your pages and basically have a great time. It's the "write" place to be. Please bring a spiral notebook and a pencil or pen... and your imagination too.
