Hugo

Book clubs are fun right? Well how much more fun do you think they would be if there were movies and snacks involved too? A lot I bet. Teen Movie Club is a twist on the traditional book club. Every month you guys will read a new book, and then we will meet to watch the movie based on it. After the film, we'll discuss if it was better than the book, if it was an awful, no-good, horrible travesty, or even if it was just OK. Now I know what you're thinking, "A whole new book every month? I don't have time for that!" And that's fine too. Come and watch the movie, eat a snack, and add your thoughts on just the movie to the discussion.

Travel to Paris in the 1930's with Hugo Cabret as we watch Martin Scorsese's adaptation of Brian Selznick's novel The Invention of Hugo Cabret.

Adventures of Tin Tin

Join us this month to watch and discuss The Adventures of Tintin, based on the classic comics by Hergé. The film was based on the Tintin stories The Crab with the Golden Claws, The Secret of the Unicorn, and Red Rackham's Treasure, which can be found in volume's three and four of the Tintin collections.

Are you tired of buying compost? Come learn how to make your own organic compost from a CSU-trained Master Gardener. We'll show you the secrets of starting and maintaining a compost pile, as well as teach you how to recycle your kitchen scraps into “black gold” by keeping a worm bin. Instead of putting out bags of garden debris destined for the landfill, learn how to recycle that material back into your landscape. Registration for this talk and demonstration is appreciated, but not required.
