Travel back to the homesteading days with the Golden History Museum. The Golden Library hosts local glass blowing artist Jacqueline McKinny of Rowan Studios at the Homesteaders’ Day at Clear Creek History Park. Experience 19th-century homesteading, explore the historic cabins, try woodstove cooking, learn about blacksmithing, take a lesson at the schoolhouse, AND watch a glass blowing demonstration. This is a free event hosted by the Colorado History Museum at the Clear Creek History Park.

Families are busy and we're here to help. Check out our events and mark your calendar throughout the year to attend our FamilyLab drop-in sessions. You can participate and learn about DIY holiday projects, school work assistance, meals and nutrition tips, choosing childcare, summer camps and much more. Snacks are provided, too!

October: Getting Ready for Halloween - Halloween can be scary if you're not ready. Learn the "tricks" and be "treated" to great ideas. A costume swap, Halloween make-up tips, easy costume creations and DIY treat bags made with t-shirts offer an afternoon of fun. We'll have a few t-shirts on hand, but free to bring your own. And don't forget the pumpkin decorating. It's all about Halloween and we look forward to seeing you.

Everyone knows that girls are awesome. Sadly though, as girls grow up, they’re far under-represented in science careers, and sometimes subliminally discouraged from even showing interest in these careers. We're doing our part to change this course by offering STEM events just for girls where all ages are invited to play and learn in an open and nonjudgmental atmosphere. The events are led by Bell Middle School’s Girls in iSTEM Club. Space is limited, so please register in advance.

Everyone knows that girls are awesome. Sadly though, as girls grow up, they’re far under-represented in science careers, and sometimes subliminally discouraged from even showing interest in these careers. We're doing our part to change this course by offering STEM events just for girls where all ages are invited to play and learn in an open and nonjudgmental atmosphere. The events are led by Bell Middle School’s Girls in iSTEM Club. Space is limited, so please register in advance.
