Learn and practice the fundamental elements of setting up and using spreadsheets: entering, editing and formatting data, and how to create, edit and use basic mathematical functions and formulas.  Prerequisite:  Mastery of basic computer skills (mouse, keyboard, basic Windows commands and functions).

Mandatory Orientation Meetings:

2015 Summer Reading Teen Volunteer Mandatory Orientation Meeting:  If you are a teen entering grades 7 - 12 AND have submitted an application to volunteer for the Summer Reading program, please plan on attending ONE of the following meetings:

  • 3 p.m. Sat., May 23
  • 2 p.m. Fri., May 29

You MUST submit an application to be accepted into the Teen Volunteer Program.  Orientation meetings will last approximately 1 hour.

Become your own celebrity and join Summer Reading at our “REaD" Carpet event.  Sign up for Summer Reading 2015 and help us reach our goal to read 1,000,001 minutes in Jeffco this summer.  Kids and teens will receive a free book upon sign up (while supplies last).  There will be fun activities for all ages.  Kids - go on a scavenger hunt for book celebrities, bling out a set of glasses, race with an egg and a spoon and much more.  Teens - test your engineering skills as you build a paper rollercoaster.  There will also be a community project by local artist AWOL.  Take up the challenge as we strive to read 1,000,001 minutes. Sponsored by: Chick-fil-A.

Wait, it’s a little bit of all three.  It’s SUPER ANN!!

Ann Lincoln will perform amazing feats of strength and courage in this one-of-a-kind Magic, Juggling and Comedy Show.  When she finds out that “Every Hero has a Story,” Ann is inspired by the people and characters in books she has read.  In her show she will escape from a strait jacket, juggle bowling balls and even bring along some of her “Wonder Pets” to perform also!

Registration is required and begins one week in advance at 9 am. Register online or call 303-235-5275.

You'll have 1 1/2 hours to create a character or costume from the provided supplies. Are you a villian? Superhero? Celebrity? Futuristic?  It's totally up to you. Win or lose, come have fun and be as strange as you'd like.  It's a 2 our program, with the last 30 minutes for showing off your designs and voting for the best costumes. Restaurant gift certificates will be awarded to the top three costumes.
