It's time to use your brain... to build a scarecrow! The Parade of Scarecrows in Old Towne Arvada is the perfect inspiration, so after you watch that, head to the Standley Lake Library and create your own scarecrow. We display all the scarecrows in front of the library for a week, and invite the public to vote for their favorite. Register required online at jeffcolibrary.org or call 303-235-5275.  Prepare to draw straws and help us scare away the crows in Standley Lake.

Everyone knows that girls are awesome. Sadly though, as girls grow up, they’re far under-represented in science careers, and sometimes subliminally discouraged from even showing interest in these careers. We're doing our part to change this course by offering STEM events just for girls where all ages are invited to play and learn in an open and nonjudgmental atmosphere. The events are led by Bell Middle School’s Girls in iSTEM Club. Space is limited, so please register in advance.
