It's time once again for our fantastic Fandom Contest. It’s your chance to create a fun representation of a book, movie, TV show or musical artist. Contributions can be written (stories, poetry), visual (art, cosplay) or digital (videos). Submit your creation in person to Lakewood Library's Teen Librarian between June 25 and July 26. Our Teen Advisory Board will judge the entries on July 28, 5 – 6 p.m. Then, we’ll celebrate with a costume party, complete with pizza & other snacks! Winners in each category will receive a $25 prize! Best costume at the party also wins a prize. Entrants must be a Colorado resident between 11 - 18 years of age. Please include your telephone number and/or email address with your entry.

On August 21, the shadow of the moon will sweep a path across the United States, from Oregon to South Carolina, covering more than 90% of the sun at 11:45 in Denver. Even so, without a special viewer, you won’t even notice the eclipse! With a pinhole eclipse viewer, and with luck, you’ll be able to see the moon’s progress across the sun. Join us in the DIY Lab on Sunday, August 13th from 1:30-2:30pm to make an eclipse viewer and learn how to use it.

Together, we'll explore how they're constructed, how they're stocked, and how you list its location online for traveler's to discover.
