Tea with Friends will be ninety minutes of sharing time between mothers & daughters, grandmothers & granddaughters, friends and couples.  For thirty minutes, Rita Parisi, a seasoned performer who will be in costume, will provide the actual history of an afternoon tea in 1908 when there were no cell phones.

The Lakeville library invites you to bring a friend or a relative, ages 10 and older to this FREE program to learn the Victorian tradition of communication.  The automobile, airplane, changes in fashion, entertainment and social conventions were altering the lives of people forever in 1908.  Mrs. Gordon, a middle class housewife, will entertain you as she tells you stories that will illuminate life at the end run of the 20th centruy.  The balance of the time will be ladies (and gentlemen) socializing, enjoying the teas and treats to be offered, to pass the time.

This event is one of a series of FREE to the public Cultural Presentations to be held at the Lakeville Public Library supported in part from a grant by the Lakeville Arts Council, a local agency that is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.

The meeting room inside  the Lakeville library will transform into a nightclub to host the Swing Fever Trio for a special hour of distinctive jazz stylings to the music of George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Richard Rdogers and more.

This show is FREE and open to the ADULT public. The hour will promise a joyous sampling of the best of American popular music in the past 100 years and guaranteed to get your toes tapping and perhaps even some dancing with your partner.  This program will also provide some narrative on the American Songbook to educate and inform as well as entertain.  Pianist and vocalist Steve Rudolph, founder of the Swing Fever Trio, is a former public teacher with a degree in Music Education. For over 40 years he has performed extensively both in the U.S. and Europe in venues ranging from jazz clubs to churches.

This event is one of a series of FREE to the public Cultural Presentations to be held at the Lakeville Public Library supported in part from a grant by the Lakeville Arts Council, a local agency that is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
