This six-week class for preschoolers (3-5 years old) will  engage them to move with the music through exercise and games. This class will help reinforce different skills such as listening, gross motor, and self-esteem, to  name a few.

Music and movement classes will be held on Mondays, starting March 2nd and ending April 6th, from 4:00 - 4:30 PM.

Registration is required and space is limited.

The library will host a special screening with the producers of “Under the Umbrella Tree.”  The film is a documentary about Victoria Nalongo Namusisi, Co-Founder and Director of Bright Kids Uganda children’s home located near Entebbe, Uganda.  This documentary, shot on location in Uganda, is a true story based on the life of Victoria and how she founded Bright Kids Uganda.  Co-producers of the film are Pittsburgh natives Pauline Greenlick and Dr. Louis Picard who both worked at Bright Kids Uganda.  The producers will be at the library to answer questions about the film.

Jump for joy, this program is all about frogs and toads in Western Pennsylvania. Join the Audubon Society of Western Pennsylvania naturalists as we learn all about how frogs survive in our ponds, stream, backyards, and why they are so important. Kids & adults will enjoy learning local frog calls, and we’ll also introduce Frog Watch, a citizen science project that families can do at Beechwood Farms throughout the spring and summer.

Add to the fun at our Pre-Par-Tee event from 6:00-7:00 p.m. with local golf pros Dave Martin, Mark Hessler and Courtney Myrhum who will be giving golf tips on the "links". Tickets are $125 per person.

Medical ethics will be discussed by local experts Sarah Stockey, Clinical Ethics Fellow/Supervisor, Center for Healthcare Ethics, Duquesne University, and Jason Byron, Manager, Medical Ethics, UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside.  They will share information and answer questions about medical ethics training and implementation in hospitals and during emergencies. Also to be discussed are end-of-life directive options and how patients can effectively express medical care wishes.
