    Kids, travel with Flat Al the paper alligator and then let us know about your adventures with him!  Stop by the library to pick up a Flat Al before you go on vacation. You can also just take him to places around town. Return him to the Children’s Room along with photos, pictures you drew, and/or descriptions of your time with him . We will post them on our bulletin board in the library! All ages and no registration.

    Gather on the front steps of the library for stories, songs and puppets.   Then we'll move to the lawn for parachute play.  The program is geared towards babies and preschoolers coming with a parent or caregiver, but all ages are welcome. 

NOTE: We'll be inside if the weather is too hot or too wet.

No registration.

    Families, come see Keith Michael Johnson create amazing bubble sculptures. He will also explain the amazing science related to how bubbles work and what we can do with them. Since 1986 he has been celebrating science with wacky inventions, tons of enthusiasm, humor and style.  He has been seen in schools and libraries all over New England and was featured on the Discovery Channel's show "Time Warp".  Don't miss this show!  Please register.

    Drop off your stuffed animal before 6:00 p.m. today.  Return on Friday at 10:30 AM to see how the sleepover went! Children of all ages are welcome to bring their stuffed animals  (only the stuffed animals will spend the night at the library).   All stuffed animals must be potty trained.  No registration.

    Welcome to the World of Owls, hosted by the raptor rehabilitators of Wingmasters. This program will show how owls use their specialized powers of sight, hearing and flight to survive and thrive. Fact and folklore about these masters of the dark will explain the natural and unnatural history of owls. A variety of live owls will provide the focus of the presentation. For all ages - recommended for school-aged children and up. This program is not geared for very young children. Please register.

If you are a military veteran who has returned from active duty struggling to create a new work life, Susan Henry, a noted Career Counselor, will be on hand to assist you.  She will show you the latest techniques for navigating the web in search of careers,  help you understand how to translate the work you did in the military into skills that an employer will understand, and lead a discussion with all of you on the issues you are having in this tough economy. 
This could be just what you’ve been looking for since returning home.  As always, this workshop is Free.  We hope you will join us.  If you have a current resume and cover letter, bring it with you for Susan to critique (time permitting).
