Lompoc Library's Grossman Gallery Works of Art for August 1-September 30, 2016

Through the lens of a camera, local artist Lee-Volker Cox tells the story of color in and around our lives in his captivating art exhibition, A Pop of Color.

With a philosophy of maximum realism and minimal editing to enhance images or create special effects, the viewer is transported to the time and place the photo was taken.  The exhibition brings to light both bold and subtle colors to create the mosaic of the world we live in.  Whether experiencing a fun night at the fair, exploring the Alaskan wilderness, being captivated by Native American dancers, buying fresh fruit and vegetables at the Copenhagen famers’ market, or relaxing to a California sunset, the colors of everyday life welcome you.

A Pop of Color highlights the impact and importance of colors with photos from around the world including: beautiful landscapes, people in their native clothing, flowers, wildlife, night lights, performers, and more.

A self-taught photographer, motivational speaker, graduate school instructor, and retired colonel, Dr. Lee-Volker Cox has taken pictures from the Arctic to the edge of Maui’s Haleakala Crater and points in between. Rarely without a camera, his 27 years in the Air Force provided countless opportunities to experience life in unique locals in North America and Europe. To contact Lee-Volker, email LeeVCox@gmail.com or visit Facebook and Like him at https://www.facebook.com/Lee-Volker-Cox
