Beneath the Surface
Online Teen Summer Reading Program

Teens entering grades 6 through 12 in September are encouraged to participate in "Beneath the Surface," the Levittown Public Library's online Teen Summer Reading Program from June 17 to August 3.  Teens are invited to read and participate in activities for weekly drawing prizes as well as to take part in programs offered throughout the summer.  Online sign-up begins on Monday, June 17, and you can begin logging your time right away.  Participants who complete 600 minutes of reading and activities will be eligible to receive a certificate and be invited to our End of the Summer Party, which will include a Grand Drawing.  Call or visit the Teen Lounge for more details.

2013 Children's Summer Reading Program
For children entering gardes K to 6 in the fall of 2013

In-person registration begins Monday, June 17th and ends on Tuesday, July 30th in the Children's Department.
Upon registration you will receive a separate Summer Reading Flyer.  
Activities will begin on Monday, June 24th, and end on Wednesday, August 14th.

A Slice of Brooklyn Bus Tour
Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at 9:30 a.m.
$69.00 per person includes:  transportation, pizza, tour guide, and all gratuities.

We will embark on a 4 1/2 hour guided bus tour through Brooklyn with stops at two pizzerias:  Grimaldi's under the Brooklyn Bridge for their award winning Neapolitan style pizza and L&B Spumoni Gardens in Bensonhurst for their Sicilian style pizza.  At each pizzeria we will have 2 slices of pizza and a soft drink.  We will also visit Brooklyn Bridge Park and Fulton Ferry Landing in DUMBO, Red Hook, Sunset Park, Bay Ridge, Bath Beach, Bensonhurst, Brighton Beach and a walk along the famous Coney Island Boardwalk.  In between, we'll visit landmarks, points of interest as well as famous Brooklyn movie locations like Saturday Night Fever, Goodfellas, Scent of a Woman, Annie Hall and more.
