    Contact: Amy Rosa   508-261-7380   arosa@sailsinc.org

Mansfield Library warmly welcomes Tony McDonnell to host a unique educational program to help potential home sellers get the best out of their property value in today’s market. The seminar, called “Staging Your Home to Sell!’ will take place Thursday, February 23rd at 6:30PM and features interior designer and home stager Marianne Cherico of Interiors by Marianne.

The seminar is offered by Tony McDonnell, a local Realtor from Campos Homes from Re/Max Real Estate Center who grew up in Foxboro. He hopes that the information could give homeowners the “HGTV” home sale experience. “Today’s buyers are spoiled by HGTV”, Tony said. “Buyers want that move in ready home, with little to no work required. Having the home staged often helps today’s buyers to visualize their personal belongings in the home while alleviating the stress of having to do some work to get the home to their personal standards. The word staging is often thought as a costly investment, but homeowners will learn in this seminar that it’s not true. A small investment in staging can easy increase a home’s marketability and value”.

Marianne will walk you through the basics of home staging, and teach you how to easily increase the value of your home by thousands of dollars. Through simple tips and tricks, she will explain how to get the most out of your redecorating dollar, and how to avoid the most common pitfalls. “Staging tips the scale when you are selling your house”, Marianne said. “When you stage a home you are packaging it so that buyers will fall in love with your home, over the other homes on the market. You are selling them the dream. Home sellers who don't stage are missing an incredible opportunity to maximize the equity in their home”. Marianne, who has been staging homes for over ten years, has been featured in Builder/Architect Magazine and Southern New England Magazine.

This seminar will be free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served during the seminar. Please register below.

Join our newest book club at the library! This book club will focus on nonfiction works. This month's title is American Passage: The History of Ellis Island by Vincent Cannato. "Ellis Island had been an obscure little island that barely held itself above high tide. Today it stands alongside Plymouth Rock in our nation's founding mythology as the place where many of our ancestors first touched American soil. Ellis Island's heyday--from 1892 to 1924--coincided with one of the greatest mass movements of individuals the world has ever seen, with some twelve million immigrants inspected at its gates. Historian Vincent J. Cannato illuminates the story of Ellis Island, from the 19th century days when it hosted pirate hangings, to the turn of the 20th century when massive migrations sparked fierce debate and hopeful new immigrants often encountered corruption, harsh conditions, and political scheming. Accounts of immigrants, officials, interpreters, and social reformers all play a role in the chronicle. Long after Ellis Island ceased to be the nation's preeminent immigrant inspection station, the debates that swirled around it are still relevant." Please register below.
